Hunter Biden’s escapades are a source of never ending scandal.
Now there is another chapter.
And Hunter Biden hooked up with this notorious Hollywood bad boy.
Sean Penn opens up on friendship with Hunter Biden
Hunter Biden is fresh off a federal jury convicting him of lying on a background check form when purchasing a firearm in 2018.
In the fall, Biden will stand trial on charges of federal tax crimes.
But Hunter Biden’s travails led him to make some famous friends.
One of them is actor and director Sean Penn.
Penn was one of the most talented actors of his generation as he starred in films like Taps and played the iconic stoner role of Spicoli in Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
In the mid 1980s, Penn was a member of the “Brat Pack” – a collection of young actors who got their nickname as a take from Frank Sinatra’s “Rat Pack” of the 1960s – that included Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe, Demi Moore and Molly Ringwald.
Penn also dated Madonna at the height of her fame.
New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd interviewed Penn and was surprised to see one of Hunter Biden’s paintings prominently displayed in Penn’s home.
“On prominent display is a painting by Hunter Biden called “The Map,” the black outline of a head with colorful, detailed brushstrokes all around it. It’s a gift from the president’s son. Hunter, his wife, Melissa, and their son, Beau, had been over the night before,” Dowd wrote.
Penn told Dowd the two met when Penn honored the legendary rock group U2.
“He said the two met in 2022 when Penn gave a speech in honor of U2 at the Kennedy Center Honors. He had read an interview with Hunter, the first “since the chips were rolling down, and I was really taken with him and I told him,” Dowd added.
Penn and Biden connect over Ukraine Â
But it was over Ukraine where they really linked up.
Penn was a notorious anti-war activist his entire career, famously paying $56,00 for an ad in the Washington Post begging President George W. Bush to end military activities in Iraq.
But Penn – like all liberal elites – eagerly adopted the Ukrainian cause as his own and traveled to that nation to interview President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Hunter Biden is most infamous for his business dealings in Ukraine where Burisma paid him $50,000 a month to sit on its board of directors.
Penn recounted to Dowd how leftist California Congressman Eric Swalwell suggested the two meet up as Hunter lived not far from Penn in Malibu.
“Then last fall, after a screening of his Ukraine film with big shots on Capitol Hill, Penn had dinner with his friend Representative Eric Swalwell of California, who suggested he look up Hunter in Malibu,” Dowd added.
Penn revealed he walked away impressed from their meeting.
“I had no idea he lived down here,” Penn recounted, adding that “I thought he was off in some judicial-focused place that we see on TV.” He called Hunter “a very, very insightful guy.”
Hunter Biden’s gained a world of legal and political problems.
But he also gained a famous new friend.
