The British Royal Family turmoil continues through the Christmas season.
A new controversy has the Royals back in the headlines.
And Harry and Meghan Markle got banned from the Royal Family Christmas for this insane reason.
Harry and Meghan still persona non grata
This Christmas won’t be the season the British Royal Family reunites.
Ingrid Seward – editor in chief of Majesty Magazine and author of My Mother and I – told Fox News that King Charles banned Harry and Meghan from Christmas dinner over the couple’s ever-growing list of demands.
“No, I’m not a bit surprised they weren’t invited,” Seward began.
There is still much resentment in the Royal Family over Harry airing family secrets in his 2023 memoir and King Charles wanted a drama free holiday.
“I think the general feeling is that it would’ve just created an unwarranted atmosphere, and Christmas isn’t about that. Christmas is about everybody being happy and getting on with each other. And . . . I just think that King Charles just couldn’t deal with the [drama],” Seward added.
King Charles and Princess Kate are both coming off cancer diagnoses for which they are in recovery and Seward explained that adding the traveling circus of Harry and Meghan to the agenda would be too much.
“He’s exhausted by his year,” Seward stated.
“He’s exhausted by his cancer, and he’s a workaholic, so he doesn’t really rest up. And the thought of having Harry and Meghan was probably a bit much. He thought it would be a bit much over this period,” Seward continued.
Harry and Meghan will spend Christmas in California with their two children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.
Grandchildren bring hope of repairing the British Royals’ relationship
Seward said Charles – who is 76 years old – would very much like to see his grandchildren.
“It doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to see his grandchildren,” Seward continued.
But Harry and Meghan are demanding the King reinstate their security detail and provide a host of other accommodations they forfeited when the pair quit the Royal Family.
“I think he’s desperate to see his grandchildren,” Seward remarked. “But Harry won’t come here unless he has this, that and the other. And he wants an armed escort, and he’s making too many demands. And I completely understand. [But] Charles [is saying], ‘Look, I’m just not going to ask them this yet.’”
Seward claimed there were two factors that could reunite the Royals.
The first was King Charles’ desire to see his grandchildren, whom he has only met once.
“I think the children will eventually bring them together, hopefully,” Seward said.
But King Charles isn’t returning Harry’s calls at the moment.
Seward also floated the idea that King Charles and Kate Middleton’s cancer could bring the family together again.
The opposite appears to have happened as it would look opportunistic if Harry and Meghan used King Charles’ and Princess Kate’s cancer diagnoses as an excuse to try and re-establish relationship.
“But I don’t think it’ll last forever. I really don’t and I hope not…. You’d think that Charles’ cancer scare might have pulled the family together, and Catherine’s cancer scare might’ve pulled the family together. But if that hasn’t, I’m not quite sure what will,” Seward concluded.
