When a political party loses an election, everyone turns on one another.
Right now, the Democrat Party is in complete disarray.
And George Clooney went into hiding after what John Fetterman just said.
George Clooney steps back from politics
George Clooney’s July 10 op-ed in the New York Times was part of the death by a thousand cuts that sunk Joe Biden’s campaign.
Following the disastrous June 27 debate, Clooney wrote in the Times that Joe Biden appeared senile at a fundraiser he hosted for Biden just prior to the debate.
“But the one battle he cannot win is the fight against time. None of us can. It’s devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fund-raiser was not the Joe “big F-ing deal” Biden of 2010. He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate,” Clooney wrote.
This was the fundraiser where Joe Biden froze on stage and Barack Obama had to walk him off the stage like he was a child.
Clooney was happy to participate in a conspiracy to conceal Biden’s condition right up until the point that Biden’s senility became obvious and threatened the Democrat Party’s chances of winning the election.
It was suspected at the time that Clooney wrote the op-ed at the behest of Barack Obama.
Obama and Nancy Pelosi led the effort to force Biden off the ticket, leading to Kamala Harris’ nomination.
But after Kamala Harris lost to Donald Trump, Clooney is back-peddling as fast as possible to avoid blame for this fiasco.
A source close to Clooney told the Daily Mail that Clooney is ‘stepping back’ from politics after feeling he’s taking an unfair amount of heat for making Kamala Harris the nominee.
“George feels that the backlash he is getting for Kamala losing is not at all warranted,” a source close to Clooney told DailyMail.com. “He thinks it is completely unfair to try and make him a scapegoat for her loss.”
“He has backed the Democratic Party and invested so much time and money into them, but he is going to take a step back for now. He feels very disheartened,” the source added.
The source close to Clooney tried to distance Clooney from Kamala Harris’ doomed campaign, pointing out that in his op-ed he never actually endorsed Kamala Harris.
“When he wrote his op-ed, George did not say ‘Biden is not fit to be president choose Kamala’. The Democrats jumped on Kamala and within days she was the candidate,” the source continued.
Clooney allegedly wanted an open convention to pick the strongest nominee possible.
“George believes that they should have taken a step back and looked at their options. That is why he did not endorse her right away,” the source concluded.
Clooney is stepping back from politics because he thinks he’s unfairly getting blamed for the party ending up with a lemon of a candidate.
But Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) told Semafor that Clooney and the other Democrats who pushed Biden out broke the campaign by subbing in Kamala Harris and now they need to own their actions.
“For those that decided and moved to break Biden, and then you got the election that you wanted, it’s appropriate to own the outcome and fallout. It’s perfectly understandable if you demand an alternative. It was an undeniably rough debate,” Fetterman stated.
