Donald Trump proved the polls wrong because of these secret supporters

Nov 20, 2024

For a third election in a row, Donald Trump outperformed his poll numbers.

Everyone tried to figure out why.

And Donald Trump proved the polls wrong because of these secret supporters.

Donald Trump’s secret support

Trump’s interview with Joe Rogan may have won Trump the election.

45,000,000 people watched the interview on YouTube.

Rogan then endorsed Trump the day before the election.

And Rogan’s support paid off as the audience Rogan attracted that Trump hoped to appeal to – young men aged 18 to 29 – went 49 to 47 percent for Trump over Kamala Harris after they voted 53 to 41 for Biden in 2020.

Rogan broke down the election on an episode of his podcast following the election and Rogan said Trump also won because of the “shy” Trump vote.

In 2016 and 2020, pollsters didn’t accurately measure Trump’s support.

Rogan said that many Trump supporters self-censor themselves out of fear of getting canceled.

“A lot of what people say, they say it because they don’t want people to attack them. They say it because they think that if they say it, it will clear them, they’ll be OK,” Rogan stated.

This showed up in the polls where fewer people – especially in the key Midwest battlegrounds – were willing to tell pollsters they supported Trump.

“If you say you support ‘x’ — you might not even support ‘x’ — but if you say you support ‘x,’ you’re not going to get attacked and the right people will leave you alone or agree with you and appreciate you or praise you,” Rogan added.

Rogan said he saw this phenomenon play out in his line of work as he couldn’t count the number of comedians and musicians who told him they were secretly supporting Trump but couldn’t say so publicly out of fear for professional retribution.

“There’s a lot of that out there. There’s a lot of people that don’t speak their mind. Do you know how many artists that have reached out to me that are like f—ing hippies, man, like artists, like musicians, comedians that thanked me for endorsing Trump because they can’t do it?” Rogan continued.

Rogan endorsed Trump in part because of Trump’s commitment to free speech and promise to destroy cancel culture.

The famous podcaster argued it was a “dangerous precedent to set, whether it’s a right-wing government or a left-wing government and that what you see that’s happening in the U.K. where people are being imprisoned for tweets and Facebook posts. It’s f—ing crazy.”

Rogan added that Americans would feel freer to speak their minds – and maybe the polls will get more accurate as a result – if Trump follows through on ending all the online censorship.

“Mind bending. The whole thing is nuts,” Rogan added. “And it’s a dangerous path that we were on. We were on that path. Trump has vowed to have free speech become a very important part of what he’s standing for, and that this censoring of information needs to stop and that we need to stop all government influence in what people have to say.”

In another respect, Trump winning both the popular vote and the Electoral College validated his political movement.

Trump won so overwhelmingly that the Left had to accept the legitimacy of Trump’s win and not organize mass resistance.

That could also end the self-censorship of Trump supporters.
