Donald Trump just dropped the hammer on Harvard with one devastating move that has leftists in meltdown mode

Harvard University thought it could thumb its nose at federal law and get away with it.

The elite institution just learned that Donald Trump doesn’t play games when it comes to national security.

And Donald Trump just dropped the hammer on Harvard with one devastating move that has leftists in meltdown mode.

Trump bans foreign students from attending Harvard University

President Donald Trump signed a proclamation on June 4 that suspends the entry of foreign nationals seeking to study at Harvard University.

The six-month ban targets new international students applying for F, M, or J visas to attend the prestigious institution.

Trump’s proclamation cited Harvard’s refusal to cooperate with Department of Homeland Security requests for information about foreign students.

The university refused to provide data about "known illegal activity" and "known dangerous and violent activity" by foreign students, according to the proclamation.

The university only provided data on three students when asked, and that information was so inadequate that DHS couldn’t determine if further action was needed.

Trump called Harvard "no longer a trustworthy steward of international student and exchange visitor programs."

Harvard’s troubling foreign connections exposed

The proclamation revealed Harvard’s extensive financial ties to America’s adversaries.

According to The Harvard Crimson, Harvard has received more than $150 million in total contributions from foreign governments over the last five years and over $1 billion from foreign sources.

Over the last 10 years, Harvard has received more than $150 million from China alone.

In return, Harvard has "repeatedly hosted and trained members of a Chinese Communist Party paramilitary organization," according to a House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party investigation.

Harvard researchers have also partnered with China-based individuals on research that could advance China’s military capabilities.

The FBI has long warned that foreign adversaries exploit American higher education to steal technical information, exploit research and development, and spread disinformation.

Crime rates surge while Harvard refuses accountability

Trump’s proclamation noted that crime rates at Harvard, including violent crime rates, have drastically risen in recent years.

The university has failed to properly discipline conduct violations on campus while refusing to provide the federal government with necessary information about foreign student misconduct.

"It presents an unacceptable risk to our Nation’s security for an academic institution to refuse to provide sufficient information, when asked, about known instances of misconduct and criminality committed by its foreign students," Trump declared.

Trump noted that universities must maintain detailed records about foreign students and provide them to federal authorities when requested.

Harvard’s refusal to comply puts the entire student visa system at risk, according to the proclamation.

Discrimination continues despite Supreme Court ruling

Harvard continues to flout civil rights laws despite multiple federal investigations.

The Supreme Court ended Harvard’s discriminatory admissions practices in a landmark ruling that bears the university’s name.

But Harvard and its affiliated campus organizations continue denying equal opportunities to hardworking Americans.

"Instead of those Americans, Harvard admits students from non-egalitarian nations, including nations that seek the destruction of the United States and its allies, or the extermination of entire peoples," the proclamation stated.

Trump determined it’s not in America’s interest to compound Harvard’s discrimination by reducing opportunities for American students through excessive foreign enrollment.

National security takes precedence over elite privilege

Trump emphasized that studying in America is earned, not guaranteed.

The proclamation established that universities must follow federal law and assist with national security requirements to maintain their privileges in hosting foreign students.

That privilege requires host institutions to comply with federal law and cooperate with national security requirements.

The Secretary of State will consider whether to revoke visas for foreign nationals currently at Harvard under F, M, or J visas.

However, the ban includes exceptions for aliens whose entry would be in the national interest.

The suspension can be extended if the Attorney General and Secretary of Homeland Security recommend it serves America’s interests.

Harvard’s arrogance and defiance of federal law finally caught up with it under a President who puts America First.

This sends a clear message to other elite institutions that think they’re above the law.
