Donald Trump delivered this ultimatum to the Senate about Tulsi Gabbard

Tulsi Gabbard is Donald Trump’s pick to serve as Director of National Intelligence.

Trump is gearing up for a fight with the D.C. establishment.

And Donald Trump delivered this ultimatum to the Senate about Tulsi Gabbard.

Trump team threatens primaries for Senators that oppose Trump nominees

Three Senate RINOs up for re-election in 2026 – Mike Rounds of South Dakota, John Cornyn of Texas, and Susan Collins of Maine – all told Punch Bowl News that they weren’t ready to commit to voting for Gabbard’s nomination as Director of National Intelligence.

Gabbard opposed the war in Ukraine, so Cornyn tried to smear her as a Putin stooge.

“Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), another Intelligence Committee member, said he has ‘no doubt that she’s a patriot,’ but he wants to question Gabbard on her posture toward Russia,” Punch Bowl reported.

Rounds and Collins appeared to demand Gabbard’s FBI file, hoping it would allow them to smear her as a foreign agent even though she served with honor in the U.S. military during the Iraq War.

“I start out saying, OK, this is an individual the president wants on his team. But now let’s talk about information that maybe the president didn’t have, or information that comes up, and at that stage do we advise the president to look elsewhere or do we offer our consent?” Rounds stated.

Collins wanted to snoop through Gabbard’s FBI file, claiming, “A nominee that illustrates the importance of a full background check, a public hearing, and the constitutional role of the Senate.”

The Trump team’s response

Donald Trump and his transition team plan to fight for his nominees.

Gabbard supports the America First foreign policy and opposes the Deep State’s illegal warrantless spying program.

Trump knows with Gabbard in place there won’t be any repeats of the Russian collusion of Ukraine impeachment hoaxes where rogue agents tried to frame Trump to drive him from office.

And Trump’s team had a message for any RINOs thinking about voting against Trump’s cabinet nominees.

ABC News’ Senior White House Correspondent Selina Wang reported that the Trump told RINO Senators that opposing a Trump nominee meant they bought themselves a primary challenger funded by Elon Musk.

“And we are told by a Trump official that those meetings were productive. But we’re also told that behind the scenes, the Trump team has been playing hardball and they’ve been giving an ominous warning to any Senate Republicans who might oppose his nominees,” Wang began.

“One Trump adviser telling our Jon Karl that the message is, quote, ‘If you are on the wrong side of the vote, you’re buying yourself a primary. That is all. And there’s a guy named Elon Musk who is going to finance it.’ The Trump adviser added, ‘The president gets to decide his cabinet. No one else,’” Wang added.

Unlike his first term, Donald Trump doesn’t want to get trapped into putting a cadre of swamp creatures in key national security positions so they can undermine him.

Trump looks like he’s willing to play hard ball to get his way.
