Questions continue to swirl around the role of Secret Service and other government agents, as well as the motivation of the gunman.
And now a Thomas Crooks associate just made a shocking move in the Trump assassination attempt investigation.

People are still in shock over the lack of information on the progress of the investigation into the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump in a Butler, Pennsylvania, field on July 13.
Details remain murky about the events that led up to a gunman being able to get on a roof with a rifle so close to where a presidential candidate was speaking and why no one in the Secret Service saw him or acted to stop him before shots rang out.
The former Secret Service director gave the horrible excuse that the roof was too steep for her team to be up there. No one bought that one, and she ended up resigning.
But the bungling of the investigation by the Biden-Harris administration’s Justice Department continues.
Because Trump is a former President, an attack on him is a federal crime, so the FBI is the lead investigating agency.
The FBI claims that it couldn’t find any information about the shooter’s motivation. They couldn’t find any social media posts or any records on the shooter’s computer.
Then, the Justice Department released the body to the family for cremation 10 days after the shooting and before a full autopsy was done.
People are wondering just how serious the Biden-Harris Justice Department is about figuring out what happened.
Now, one of the key people in the investigation has just lawyered up.
Father hires high-powered defense firm
Matthew Crooks, the father of shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks, has just hired some very powerful criminal defense attorneys as the FBI reportedly begins looking into any role in the shooting he may have played.
The Daily Mail reports:
“The development comes as one family member shared with DailyMail.com that the FBI, ‘still very much has questions’ regarding how much the killer’s parents knew – while revealing that his father Matthew Crooks, 53, is a gun enthusiast who has sold firearms to relatives in the past.”
The news suggests the elder Crooks is fearful the Justice Department has concluded that going after him could help advance Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ gun control agenda.
The attorneys Crooks reportedly hired specialize in criminal and wrongful death defense. They are listed in the law publication as “Super Attorneys” and are based in Pittsburg.
Not only does Mr. Crooks have to worry about any alleged criminal involvement, but he also has to be ready to defend himself against any civil lawsuits from the shooting.
Congressman Mike Waltz (R-FL) is a member of the House Committee looking into the incident.
He is not convinced the shooter acted alone. He also can’t get answers as to why the shooter had encrypted messaging accounts but no known social media accounts.
Allegedly, Crooks also had explosive devices with remote detonators. For a young loner this seems a bit of a stretch according to Walsh.
“You can’t tell us his motive, but you could tell us he operated alone?” the Florida Republican questioned, according to the Daily Mail report.
“You can’t get into these encrypted overseas accounts, but you can tell us he acted alone? So, I don’t buy that yet,” Representative Waltz concluded.
Matthew Crooks might be very concerned that he will be charged the same way Jennifer and James Crumbley were charged in Michigan when their 15-year-old son attacked a school.
They were both convicted of involuntary manslaughter for not acting or informing authorities that their son might be plotting to harm others.
According to reports, internet history showed that someone in the Crooks home searched for stories about IEDs and explosive detonators.
