The media has been in the tank for Joe Biden.
But their bias was worse than anyone imagined.
And a CBS reporter exposed one awful move the network made to protect Joe Biden.
CBS News killed a story about Hunter Biden
Former CBS News investigative reporter Catherine Herridge was one of the few honest journalists working in broadcast news after she made the jump from Fox News.
Herridge revealed that she was given the green light from CBS CEO George Cheeks and Paramount Global chairwoman Shari Redstone, the media mogul whose company owns CBS, to do a story on Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop in October 2020.
“George Cheeks said to me on multiple occasions that this was a story of the highest priority for the network and that it was a high priority for his boss, Shari Redstone,” Herridge said. “So I took on that assignment and I did it to the best of my ability.”
She was able to discover that the laptop was real and that it included damaging information like a $1 million retainer for Hunter Biden by a Chinese energy company.
The higher-ups at CBS wanted her to pursue the story, but CBS News executives were able to bury it.
“There were corners of support in the company for it and there were corners of support who understood the value of investigating the Hunter Biden story, but there were some elements within CBS News that were just resistant to it,” Herridge explained. “It didn’t matter what the facts of the case really were, and this bothered me as a journalist a lot.”
CBS News President Ingrid Ciprian-Matthews and CBS Washington Bureau Chief Mark Lima made sure her reporting never aired.
Herridge went straight to CBS Evening News anchor Norah O’Donnell and Ciprian-Matthews in October 2020 with emails and text messages from the laptop that she said proved that Hunter Biden was being paid by Chinese companies.
None of her reporting was used by the network.
CBS shut down an interview with Elon Musk
Herridge went to CBS News in the fall of 2023 with a proposal to interview Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
“I went to the CBS executives and I said, ‘This is the opportunity that we have.’ He’s saying, ‘I want to do it live and on my platform,’ I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is an incredible opportunity,’” Herridge recalled. “Elon Musk on CBS News! He’s one of the most influential human beings on the planet, and the reaction from the executives was, ‘Well, we can’t do it live.’”
CBS News slapped conditions on the interview that eventually killed it.
The network was worried about what Musk might say in a live interview and wanted the ability to edit it for TV.
“I’m thinking, ‘Isn’t that the point of journalism?’ You don’t know what the person’s going to say,” Herridge said.
She was eventually let go by CBS News after she tried to buck the narrative the network wanted to push.
“If you just look at the fact pattern here, you can see that there was a lot of internal resistance with the Hunter Biden reporting, also special counsel Robert Hur and his findings related to Joe Biden and I was let go,” Herridge said.
CBS News is in the business of creating a narrative that’s favorable to the Democrat Party, not reporting the news.
