At first it looked like the Left would calmly accept Donald Trump’s victory.
But the natural inclination towards resistance finally took over.
A top Democrat just threatened civil war over Donald Trump’s election.
Denver Mayor pledges resistance to mass deportations
Donald Trump’s signature campaign promise in this election was a pledge to enact the largest mass deportation program in American history.
Americans viewed mass deportations as the perfect antidote for Kamala Harris opening the border to 10,000,000 illegal aliens.
Trump takes office in less than two months and Democrats are starting to panic about the prospect of the new administration removing millions of illegal aliens.
The only reason Democrats would oppose deporting illegal aliens who are draining resources and committing crimes – a judge just sentenced the illegal alien who murdered Laken Riley to life in prison without the possibility of parole – is the hope of one day turning them into voters through an amnesty bill.
Denver Mayor Mike Johnston is taking the lead in the resistance to Trump’s popular mass deportation program.
Johnston told Denverite that the city would wage a campaign of resistance against Trump’s plan to deport illegal immigrants.
“The short answer is, we won’t change that, because those are one of our core values,” Johnston stated. “And we’re not going to sell out those values to anyone. We’re not going to be bullied into changing them.”
Johnston said his city would continue to operate as a sanctuary for illegal immigrants.
“I think we are gonna continue to be a welcoming, open, big-hearted city that’s gonna stand by our values,” Johnston added.
And Johnston warned that under no circumstances would the city cooperate with Trump’s plan.
“Absolutely not,” Johnston continued. “We won’t do it.”
Johnston then predicted that Colorado Governor Jared Polis would never allow the state National Guard to assist in mass deportations.
“I do not believe that our governor is going to let them use our [Colorado] National Guard at the state level,” Johnston declared. “Unless they were planning on bringing national guards mobilized from Texas or Alabama to come invade Colorado, I don’t know where they would find the forces to begin to do that.”
“And that seems to me like a very, very bad idea from start to finish that no reasonable American would support,” Johnston said of the idea of Trump ordering other state’s National Guard units to enter Colorado to help clear out illegal aliens to send back to the home country.
But then Johnston went off the deep end.
Johnston declared he would order the Denver Police to ring the city to prevent National Guard units from entering in open defiance of federal law.
“More than us having DPD stationed at the county line to keep them out, you would have 50,000 Denverites there,” Johnston said. “It’s like the Tiananmen Square moment with the rose and the gun, right?” You’d have every one of those Highland moms who came out for the migrants. And you do not want to mess with them.”
Conservatives argue Johnston was encouraging insurrection and that the Trump administration should arrest and prosecute Johnston if he followed through on his threat to deploy police officers to forcefully block National Guard units from entering Denver and carrying out deportations.
