Rudy Giuliani is one of Donald Trump’s top political allies.
Now, he’s got an opportunity in front of him that he never expected.
And Rudy Giuliani gave one hint about his future that made Donald Trump take notice.
Rudy Giuliani helped clean up New York City
Rudy Giuliani could be getting ready for a comeback.
Giuliani became a household name for his time as the Mayor of New York City.
He was first elected in 1993 with a tall task in front of him to clean up the mess left behind by his soft-on crime predecessor.
Giuliani introduced policies like stop-and-frisk and ordered a more aggressive approach to policing by going after small crimes like panhandling, graffiti, and open containers to send a message to criminals.
That helped lead to a dramatic drop in crime, which saw New York City’s crime rate drop below the national average.
Giuliani became known as “America’s Mayor” and was named Time Magazine’s Person of the Year for his leadership in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
Now, New York City is facing many of the same problems that it had when he was first elected Mayor in the 1990s.
Crime has surged in the city because of soft-on-crime policies championed by Democrats such as no cash bail and prosecutors like Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg who give criminals a slap on the wrist.
Rudy Giuliani doesn’t close the door on running for Mayor again
New York City is in crisis and some residents of the Big Apple have pined for Giuliani to run for Mayor again to perform another turnaround job.
The city’s current Mayor, Eric Adams, was hit with a five-count federal indictment over corruption dating back more than a decade.
Guliani didn’t rule out running for New York City Mayor when he was asked about it by the New York Post.
“I’m not going to say never, ever, ever,” Guliani said.
But he added that as of right now he wasn’t going to run for Mayor again.
That wasn’t an outright denial which seemed to leave the door cracked for him.
Giuliani became the first Republican to be elected New York City Mayor in 1993 since RINO John Lindsay in 1965.
“But then there are a lot of people who want me to run for mayor,” Giuliani admitted. “But it’s unlikely.”
The 80-year-old has been a political ally to former President Donald Trump and served as one of his attorneys challenging the results of the 2020 Election.
He faced a Democrat-led witch hunt against him that resulted in him getting a frivolous $148 million judgment against him by a pair of Georgia election workers.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis charged him along with Trump as part of her sham criminal case over Georgia’s 2020 Election results.
Giuliani was worried about the crowd of far-left Democrats looking to run for Mayor.
“Everyone running for mayor looks like they’re from Red China. They don’t look American,” Giuliani said. “I’m concerned about the city becoming a Democratic dictatorship.”
“The only time since Fiorello LaGuardia a century ago that city government was honest was under me and Mike Bloomberg,” Giuliani continued. “If you don’t have a Republican or independent mayor, you will have corruption at City Hall.”
New York City is in desperate need of someone like Rudy Giuliani to come in and clean up the city.
