If there is any doubt that Kamala Harris’ internal polls paint a dire picture of her standing in the race against Donald Trump, the fact that Kamala Harris’ handlers keep agreeing to interview after interview in the hopes of creating a moment that will switch the trajectory of the race should say it all.
Kamala Harris’ latest debacle came in an interview with NBC’s Hallie Jackson.
The interview followed a series of events where Kamala appeared with RINO former Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney in which Kamala tried to appeal to moderate voters.
But, in her interview with Jackson, Kamala undid all the careful work done by her handlers to choreograph staged events to make it seem like Kamala Harris had shifted to the center.
Kamala Harris wants abortion-on-demand to be the centerpiece of her closing message.
The message Kamala Harris sent to centrist voters was that Kamala Harris wouldn’t budge one inch on her support for abortion-on-demand.
“So, is a question of pragmatism then, what concessions would be on the table, religious exemptions, for example, is that something that you would consider if the Republicans control Congress?” Jackson asked.
Kamala Harris went so far as to tell Jackson her administration would force Christian hospitals to perform abortion upon request.
“I don’t think we should be making concessions when we’re talking about a fundamental freedom to make decisions about your own body,” Kamala Harris declared.
It was telling that Kamala Harris considers abortion – which isn’t mentioned at all in the Constitution – a fundamental freedom. Meanwhile, protection for religious liberty – which is specifically named in the First Amendment – never seems to enter Kamala Harris’ thought process.
Kamala Harris claimed that, “a basic freedom has been taken from the women of America, the freedom to make decisions about their own body, and that cannot be negotiable, which is that we need to put back in the protections of Roe v. Wade, and that is it.”
When Jackson asked if she would make any accommodations to pro-abortion Republicans like Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins to win their votes on a bill codifying abortion-on-demand into law, Kamala Harris replied it was my way or the highway.
“So, that’s my point about what is non-negotiable, it has to be that we agree that it is so fundamental that we allow women the ability, with their doctor, with — if they choose — talking with their faith leader, to be able to make these decisions and not have the government tell her what to do,” Kamala Harris concluded.
