Republicans are sounding the alarm.
This is an issue that affects every American.

Republicans raise concerns about non-citizens on the voter rolls
Democrats and establishment RINOs blocked the inclusion of the SAVE Act in the most recent government funding bill.
The SAVE Act would make it a crime for illegal aliens to register to vote.
While it’s currently against the law for illegal aliens to vote in federal elections, there is nothing in the law stopping illegal aliens from registering to vote.
This is a loophole that allows illegal aliens to get on the voter rolls that conservatives would like to close.
It doesn’t make any sense that Democrats wouldn’t want to keep non-citizens off the voting rolls.
And what made even less sense to a group of Republican lawmakers was the radio silence from Biden-Harris Justice Department on requests for information on how they planned to keep illegal aliens from voting in November.
73 Republican lawmakers led by Congresswoman Lauren Boebert (R-CO), Congressman Andy Biggs (R-AZ), and Senator Tommy Tuberville fired off a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland demanding answers on what steps the administration was taking to ensure the integrity of the election.
“As of today, there has been no response from you or your Department regarding the inquiry on July 12, 2024, seeking information on efforts undertaken by your Department to enforce laws prohibiting non-citizen voting. Given that the 2024 Presidential Election is in less than 34 days, your Department’s inaction and refusal to provide any information regarding its efforts to promote public trust and confidence in our elections is especially alarming,” the letter read.
The lawmakers warned that any vote by an ineligible voter canceled out the vote of a lawful American citizen.
“Clearly, there is a non-negligible amount of voter participation by non-citizens in federal elections, which is not only a serious threat to the integrity of our elections and the democratic process they represent, but also has the potential to reduce Americans’ trust and confidence in election results,” the letter continued.

Why won’t the Biden-Kamala Harris administration provide answers about keeping illegal aliens off the voter rolls.
These are questions Boebert and other conservatives want answered.
Red states lead the way on election integrity
By comparison, red states are going the extra mile to make sure voters feel confident in the outcome of the election.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) announced his state removed 1,000,000 ineligible voters from the rolls.
That number included a number of non-citizens.
“Election integrity is essential to our democracy,” Texas Governor Greg Abbott began. “I have signed the strongest election laws in the nation to protect the right to vote and to crackdown on illegal voting. These reforms have led to the removal of over one million ineligible people from our voter rolls in the last three years, including non-citizens, deceased voters, and people who moved to another state. The Secretary of State and county voter registrars have an ongoing legal requirement to review the voter rolls, remove ineligible voters, and refer any potential illegal voting to the Attorney General’s Office and local authorities for investigation and prosecution. Illegal voting in Texas will never be tolerated. We will continue to actively safeguard Texans’ sacred right to vote while also aggressively protecting our elections from illegal voting.”
