Rob O'Neill climbed the stairs in Abbottabad and fired the shots that ended the world's most wanted man.
On America's 250th birthday, the man who pulled that trigger came forward with an urgent message.
He says we have never lost a fight abroad – and names the one enemy that could finally bring us down.
We Are Raising Victims Instead of Warriors
O'Neill did not come to hand out compliments.
He sounded an alarm.
"Part of the issue is we stop teaching our kids the past, and we're actually raising a lot of victims," O'Neill told Fox News Digital.
This is a man who served at SEAL Team Six, logged more than 400 combat missions across four continents, and earned 53 military decorations – including two Silver Stars and four Bronze Stars with Valor.
He did not rise to the top of the world's most elite fighting force by sitting in a classroom being told America was the problem.
"I'm able to attribute a lot of my successes in life simply because I left the house," O'Neill said. "I went to join the military, and I did. In this country, I just proved you can do anything by not doing one thing. I just didn't stop. I never quit."
O'Neill called his time at SEAL Team Six proof that the American model still works – when people choose to live it.
"That team was proof of equal opportunity," he said. "You have an equal opportunity to try out, but you're gonna be tested every day, and if you don't pass, we're just gonna get rid of you."
That is the America that built the greatest country in human history.
The Left has spent two decades convincing your grandchildren it never existed.
O'Neill knows exactly where the rot starts.
"I don't know why the victimhood is here," he said. "Maybe it's because the country is so great, we have to look back on the past and invent problems, and that's what we're doing right now."
The Left does not hate America because America failed.
The Left hates America because America succeeded – and success destroys the grievance industry they built their entire power structure on.
Rob O'Neill Explains How Institutional Cowardice Starts a Civil War
O'Neill did not stop at victimhood.
"We're seeing right now that we can win anything with force, but we need to import the enemy in order to lose," O'Neill told Fox News Digital.
The threat is not an army massing at a border.
The threat is what O'Neill called "institutional cowardice" – the refusal to name what is happening and act on it.
"Instead of telling the truth, we just try to appease," O'Neill said. "That's what we're seeing right now."
He warned that "if we keep importing the enemy and won't call it what it is," the country risks political division and ultimately civil war.
He named the Left's foot soldiers by their own name.
"Once that base starts growing, they're going to get rid of what was referred to by communists as the 'useful idiots,'" O'Neill said.
Joe Biden called the border secure while millions of unvetted migrants poured in.
Democrats called violent criminals victims of the system.
They called everyone raising the alarm a racist.
O'Neill pointed to Great Britain as a preview of what happens when a great power stops defending itself.
"It's not like looking at another nation," he said. "We're looking at a glimpse into our future."
He also put that milestone in perspective.
"We made it 250 years, but also keep in mind – that's usually the lifetime of most empires," O'Neill said.
Rome lasted roughly 500 years.
The Ottoman Empire lasted six centuries.

America hit 250 on the nose.
O'Neill has seen things most Americans only read about – real poverty, real dictators, real consequences for nations that stopped believing in themselves.
"We need to realize that we have been padded by two oceans, the Pacific and the Atlantic, and you don't want to do the whole 'don't know what you got until it's gone,' because this country is great," he said.
Trump is set to headline a fireworks celebration the administration has called the largest in history.
The man who fired the shots that killed bin Laden is not asking for applause.
He is asking for the same refusal to quit that carried him up those stairs in Abbottabad and into history.

When the fireworks go up over the National Mall, the question is whether enough Americans still understand what was paid for each one.
