Air Force Vet Congresswoman Just Said What Every Military Family Is Thinking About Lindsey Graham

Mar 24, 2026

Lindsey Graham has never been married, has no children, and has never once sent anyone he loves to war.

Now he's on Fox News invoking Iwo Jima to push American Marines into Iran.

And an Air Force veteran just called him out for treating U.S. troops like expendable cattle.

Graham Invokes the Bloodiest Battle in Marine Corps History

On Fox News Sunday, Graham told host Shannon Bream exactly what he wants President Trump to do next in the Iran campaign.

"Here's what I'd tell President Trump," Graham said. "Keep it up for a few more weeks, take Kharg Island, where all of the resources they have to produce oil. Control that island. Let this regime die on a vine."

Kharg Island sits about 16 miles off the Iranian coast – the chokepoint through which nearly all of the country's crude oil moves. Taking it wouldn't be a surgical strike. It would require a ground assault by American Marines, against a fortified position, in hostile waters.

When Bream pushed back, citing an Atlantic analysis warning of a "grinding war of attrition," Graham waved it off.

"I'm sort of tired of all this armchair quarterbacking," he said. "I trust the Marines. Not that guy. I trust DOD. We did Iwo Jima, we can do this."

The Battle of Iwo Jima killed nearly 7,000 Americans and wounded more than 20,000 others – in 36 days.

"He Is Acting as If They Are Expendable Cattle"

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna didn't mince words.

The retired Air Force veteran and Florida congresswoman has supported Trump from the beginning.

Lindsey Graham has gone too far for her.

Luna posted directly to Graham on X with a clip of his Fox News remarks attached.

"I am deeply upset at the lack of respect for life Senator Lindsey Graham is displaying when talking about our troops," she wrote. "He is acting as if they are expendable cattle. This is unacceptable and dark. There were over 26,000 American casualties at Iwo Jima."

Luna added the line that landed hardest: "NO BOOTS on the ground. If Senator Graham wants to go fight in a foreign conflict, let him be the first to volunteer."

Graham served as a JAG officer – Air Force legal staff. Luna flew missions.

Rep. Nancy Mace piled on, posting that Graham has exactly one foreign policy: "Send someone else's kids to war."

"He was wrong about Iraq," Mace wrote. "He was wrong about Afghanistan. Now he's wrong about Iran."

She ran a poll asking her followers, "Are you willing for your kid to die to lower the price of oil?" More than 9,000 people voted within hours.

Then she went further: "Lindsey Graham needs to be removed from the Situation Room. I don't want to hear one word from a guy with no kids, desperately sending our sons and daughters into war on the ground in Iran."

The Pattern Nobody in Washington Wants to Say Out Loud

Graham pushed the Iraq War. He pushed the Afghanistan surge. He pushed Ukraine. Now he's pushing Iran ground troops – and calling anyone who questions it an armchair quarterback.

Thirteen U.S. servicemembers have already died in the Iran campaign and at least 200 have been wounded. Trump himself told reporters last week he is "nowhere near" ordering ground troops. Wisconsin Rep. Derrick Van Orden, a former Navy SEAL, told the administration directly: "I don't want to see it."

Graham is running for a fifth Senate term and has said publicly he is going back to South Carolina to ask his constituents to "send their sons and daughters" to the Middle East. He has no sons. He has no daughters.

Graham's own primary challenger, Paul Dans – a chief architect of Project 2025 – posted that the senator was "drunk on war and power" and would "send your kids to die so he can line his pockets with money."

When an Air Force combat veteran, a female Citadel graduate, a Navy SEAL congressman, and the architect of Project 2025 are all reading from the same script – something has collapsed in Washington.

The question isn't whether the Marines could take Kharg Island.

The question Luna is asking – and that Graham refuses to answer – is whose kids are going to die on it.
