Whoopi Goldberg and the harpies on The View live in a bubble.
They had it burst in the worst way.
And Whoopi Goldberg was fuming when a top Democrat made this confession about Trump.
Senate Democrat admits that Donald Trump has the party reeling
Democrat Members of Congress are getting increasingly frustrated watching President Donald Trump enact his agenda as they sit powerless in the minority.
Trump delivered a speech to a joint session of Congress where Democrats embarrassed themselves with outbursts and other childish antics to protest him.
U.S. Senator Elissa Slotkin (D-MI), who delivered the Democrat response to Trump’s address, appeared on ABC’s The View.
She admitted that Democrats were struggling during Trump’s second term.
“I think what you saw on the House floor was, like, people feel passionate,” Slotkin said. “I identified with the frustration that my colleagues had, right? Al Green, you know, standing up and, that comes from a real place. I think I just prefer myself to do it in a different way and I think you got to be for something.”
Representative Al Green (D-TX) was removed from the House chambers after he started yelling and waving his cane around.
Slotkin said that what Democrats are doing isn’t working.
“I don’t think it’s a secret to anyone that Trump has Democrats on their heels,” Slotkin admitted. “I don’t think we need to, like, pretend that’s not happening. Admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery. I think that people are trying different things and that doesn’t mean I love every idea, but I identify with that need to try and do something.”
The Democrat base is boiling over in anger
The Democrat base is overcome with Trump Derangement Syndrome and wants their elected officials to do more to oppose Trump.
They want to see childish stunts like Green’s cane waving incident.
Co-host Sunny Hostin praised Green for his outburst and accused Democrats who behaved like adults during the speech of not meeting the moment.
Hostin asked Slotkin about accusations that she wasn’t being aggressive enough in opposing Trump.
“I think, look, to me, again, representing a state where people voted for Trump and voted for me, I have a responsibility to represent my entire state,” Slotkin claimed.
The Michigan lawmaker compared voters who put Trump into office to angry teenagers.
“I don’t think there’s anyone who feels like what’s going on right now is normal, even if you voted for Trump, right?” Slotkin asked. “I think there is a feeling in the country and I often say this, we’re about to turn 250 years old, right? We’re still pretty young for a country. These are our angry teenage years.”
Slotkin argued that voters were throwing a temper tantrum when they elected Trump.
“We are going through this push and pull where we’re happy, we’re sad. We want this, we want that, and what do you do when you have a teenager who is threatening themselves and others? You just try to get them through this period alive. So that their brain can fully form and you can come back to kind of what the country,” Slotkin said.
Democrats still don’t understand why voters sent Donald Trump back to the White House and they haven’t learned any lessons from the 2024 Election.
