President Trump rang in the New Year by hosting one of the most talked-about parties in America.
But what happened during the Mar-a-Lago celebration left even his biggest supporters speechless.
And Trump just raised three million dollars at Mar-a-Lago with one stunning performance.
Christian Artist Brings Worship to Mar-a-Lago Stage
The glittering New Year's Eve celebration at Mar-a-Lago featured high-profile guests including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and Rudy Giuliani.
But the highlight of the evening wasn't another speech or political announcement.
President Trump invited Christian worship artist Vanessa Horabuena to perform something extraordinary on stage in the Donald J. Trump Grand Ballroom.
"There's a young lady named Vanessa who's one of the greatest artists anywhere in the world," Trump told the crowd of guests who had paid $1,450 per ticket to attend.¹
Horabuena, who describes herself as a "Christian worship artist," took just 10 minutes to speed-paint a portrait of Jesus Christ on a large black canvas.
As the band played a slow version of "Hallelujah," Horabuena wielded her brushes with dramatic flair while the audience watched in awe.
"She can paint slowly a beautiful portrait for the White House or she can paint the most incredible painting in literally 10 minutes," Trump said.²
The President had been so captivated by Horabuena's talent that he invited her back for a second performance after watching her paint for an hour on Tuesday evening at Mar-a-Lago.
Trump Turns Auctioneer For Charity
Once Horabuena completed her painting of Jesus, Trump immediately seized the moment.
The President jumped on stage and turned into an auctioneer to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the local sheriff's department.
Trump opened the bidding at $100,000.
When one bidder offered $1 million, Trump ribbed him mercilessly.
"He's the biggest guy on Wall Street, so that's peanuts," Trump said, drawing laughter from the crowd.³
The President kept pushing for higher bids, even offering to personally sign the painting if someone would pay more.
"I'll sign it if you give more. Okay?" Trump told the audience.⁴
At one point, Trump misheard a woman's bid, thinking she had offered $5 million when she actually said $2.5 million.
"Your husband looked at her and said, 'What the hell is that all about?'" Trump joked.⁵
The auction created a bidding frenzy among the wealthy guests.
Final Bid Stuns Mar-a-Lago Crowd
The winning bid came in at $2.75 million.
Trump invited the winning bidder on stage to accept the still-wet painting and celebrate the massive donation to charity.
The President split the proceeds evenly between St. Jude's cancer research and the local sheriff's department.
Horabuena has become a favorite of the Trump family and the America First movement.
She painted Trump at the Liberty Inauguration Ball in January 2025 in a performance that went viral on social media.
The Christian artist has overcome significant personal struggles to build her career painting Christ-themed pieces.
She discovered her artistic talent 10 years ago while working through childhood trauma with a counselor.
"When you sit down to paint, know that it is God's work flowing through you," her counselor told her.⁶
Since then, Horabuena has built a following of 805,000 on Instagram and travels across the country speed-painting at Christian conferences and events.
Trump's New Year's Eve celebration demonstrated his continued connection with the Christian conservative base that propelled him to victory in 2024.
The President told reporters arriving at the party that his New Year's resolution was "peace on Earth."⁷
Inside the ballroom, Trump told guests the country is "doing great" and highlighted his accomplishments from 2025, including "hundreds of billions of dollars in tariffs."⁸
The Mar-a-Lago auction showed Trump at his best – combining showmanship with genuine charity work while celebrating faith and patriotism.
While the media obsesses over manufactured controversies, Trump spent New Year's Eve raising millions for children's cancer research and law enforcement.
That's the kind of leadership America voted for in 2024.
