Trump Hosted Persecuted Christians At The White House And What Happened Next Left Democrats Fuming

Feb 7, 2026

Trump just made the plight of persecuted Christians a top priority again.

The Biden years tried to bury these stories.

And Trump hosted persecuted Christians at the White House and what happened next left Democrats fuming.

Trump Brings Persecuted Christians Into The White House

Trump hosted six persecuted Christians from around the globe at the White House on Thursday following his National Prayer Breakfast speech.

The White House Faith Office welcomed believers who faced persecution in China, Nigeria, Cuba, Turkey, Sudan, and Vietnam.

Among them was Pastor Andrew Brunson, the American pastor Trump freed from Turkish prison in 2018 after two years of hell.

Brunson spent 24 hours a day in a cell built for eight people crammed with more than 20 men.

Turkey accused him of terrorism and espionage for nothing more than leading a small church in Izmir.

Trump didn't back down when Turkey's president refused to release him.

The President slapped sanctions on Turkish officials and raised tariffs on steel and aluminum until they let Brunson go.

When Brunson finally came home, he went straight to the Oval Office and prayed for Trump.

That's the kind of leadership Democrats spent four years pretending didn't matter.

Christians In Nigeria Face A Genocide Nobody Will Talk About

Trump's White House meeting included Reverend Gideon Para-Mallam of Nigeria, who founded a peace organization to help survivors of attacks on Christians.

Nigeria has become the deadliest place on earth to be a Christian.

Nigeria turned into a killing field for Christians — over 7,000 murdered in just 220 days this year.

That's 35 Christians murdered every single day.

Boko Haram, Fulani extremists, and militants linked to Islamic State West Africa Province carry out the slaughter.

Since 2009, between 50,000 and 100,000 Christians have been killed in Nigeria.

Over 19,000 churches have been attacked or destroyed.

Trump launched airstrikes in northwest Nigeria on Christmas targeting ISIS militants who were butchering Christians.

Para-Mallam works directly with survivors and said the strikes made a real difference for Christians under siege.

Biden's administration refused to take decisive action despite years of escalating violence.

Trump designated Nigeria as a "Country of Particular Concern" for religious freedom violations in October 2025.

The contrast couldn't be clearer.

Democrats Don't Want To Talk About Religious Persecution

The White House meeting came as Trump addressed the National Prayer Breakfast, where he declared "no administration in modern history has done more to confront the plight of persecuted Christians around the world than we have."

Democrats hate when Trump talks about persecuted Christians because it exposes their hypocrisy.

They lecture Americans about human rights while ignoring actual genocide against Christians worldwide.

Biden's State Department never updated the list of countries designated for religious freedom violations in 2024.

Trump immediately got back to work designating Nigeria and making it clear America won't turn a blind eye to Christian persecution.

Grace Drexel was at the White House because Chinese authorities detained her father last October along with 30 other church leaders.

Pastor Ezra Jin's crime? Leading Christians who refuse to bow to Communist control.

Mariam Ibraheem joined them — Sudan tried to execute her in 2013 for walking away from Islam.

A Sharia court ordered 100 lashes and death by hanging while she was pregnant.

Cuban pastor Mario Felix Lleonart Barroso fled to America in 2016 after being detained 21 times and sent to a labor camp for his faith.

Y Phic "Jack" Hdok escaped Vietnam in 2018 after facing persecution as a Montagnard Christian advocate.

These aren't abstract policy debates.

These are real people whose lives Trump fought to protect while Democrats remained silent.

Trump's Faith Office Keeps The Promise To Christians

The White House Faith Office hosted the meeting just ahead of its one-year anniversary on February 7.

Trump launched the office through executive order on February 7, 2025, to lead outreach to faith-based groups.

Paula White-Cain, Trump's senior adviser, and faith director Jenny Korn lead the office.

They released "150 reasons why President Trump is the most pro-faith, pro-life and pro-religious liberty president in American history."

Trump protected religious liberty, ended Biden's weaponization of government against Christians, expanded school choice, and stood with Israel.

He stopped taxpayer funding for abortion, restored free speech, and fought anti-Semitism on college campuses.

Democrats called Trump's anti-Christian bias task force a threat to civil rights.

Rachel Laser of Americans United for Separation of Church and State claimed the task force "will misuse religious freedom to justify bigotry."

That's code for Democrats wanting Christians to shut up and stay out of politics.

Trump made it clear his administration won't tolerate persecution of Christians anywhere in the world.

Biden pardoned people who firebombed churches and let violent radicals walk free while prosecuting peaceful pro-life activists.

Trump pardoned those Christians on his first day back in office.

The White House meeting with persecuted Christians shows Trump's putting action behind his words on religious freedom.

Democrats can't stand it because Trump's making their selective outrage impossible to ignore.

Of course, there is one place few want to speak about where Christians aren’t getting much respect – where Jesus himself walked.
