Tom Brady is supposed to be Fox Sports’ golden boy.
The network paid him a fortune to clean up his act.
But Tom Brady dropped one word on live TV that had Fox Sports executives instantly wincing.
Brady’s F-bomb heard round the world during Eagles-Giants game
Tom Brady apparently forgot he wasn’t on the field anymore during Fox’s broadcast of the Philadelphia Eagles versus New York Giants game on Sunday.¹
The seven-time Super Bowl champion seemed to let an F-bomb slip while praising Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts’ running abilities in the first quarter.²
“Whenever I watch him play, it’s like the d-line’s almost there to get him… and then nope!!” Brady said before the controversial moment.³
What came next raised eyebrows across social media.
“He just squirts away and they can’t f***in’… uh, just like that,” Brady appeared to say on the broadcast.⁴
Fans across the country immediately clipped the moment and posted it all over X (formerly Twitter).
Brady’s cursing habit has been well-documented throughout his playing career.
The future Hall of Famer couldn’t go two minutes during games without cameras catching him screaming profanities on the sidelines.
Back in 2014, the Federal Communications Commission received multiple complaints from parents upset about Brady’s foul language being broadcast into their living rooms.⁵
One parent complained that “6 year old children know how to read lips even if there is no sound” and added that TV cameras should not “show Tom Brady screaming the F word on national TV.”⁶
Another parent wrote the FCC that “my 8 year old grandson was watching the game with me and even commented that he should not have said that.”⁷

Fox Sports gives Brady a pass while other broadcasters face scrutiny
What’s remarkable isn’t that Brady cursed on air.
What’s remarkable is that Fox Sports apparently doesn’t care.
Brady signed a 10-year, $375 million contract with Fox in 2022 to become the network’s lead NFL analyst.⁸
That’s the richest broadcasting deal in sports history.
You’d think with that kind of money on the line, Fox would hold their star commentator to some basic broadcasting standards.
But Brady’s been getting special treatment from day one.
The NFL placed unprecedented restrictions on Brady’s broadcasting role because of his minority ownership stake in the Las Vegas Raiders.⁹
He’s barred from attending production meetings with coaches and players.
He can’t visit team facilities or attend practices.
He’s prohibited from publicly criticizing officiating or other NFL teams.¹⁰
Those restrictions were supposed to prevent conflicts of interest.
Instead, they’ve given Brady cover to avoid doing the actual work most broadcasters put in.
Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio reported that at least one NFL team wanted to waive the restrictions and let Brady attend their production meetings.¹¹
Fox Sports said no.
And teams got the impression that “Tom really doesn’t want to do it anyway, and that Tom really doesn’t want to put in that kind of work.”¹²
Brady’s broadcasting controversies keep piling up
The F-bomb incident isn’t Brady’s first broadcasting controversy.
Just last month, Brady used the word “spaz” while analyzing Bills quarterback Josh Allen during a game against the Seattle Seahawks.¹³
The term is considered an ableist slur by many people because it derives from “spastic” and has been used derogatorily against people with disabilities affecting motor function.¹⁴
Brady faced immediate backlash on social media for using the offensive term.
One user called it “sickening that that word is even in his vocabulary.”¹⁵
In September, Brady appeared on Colin Cowherd’s Fox Sports Radio show and dropped multiple S-bombs during the broadcast.¹⁶
“And now you go as a first-year quarterback, you barely know s*** and now everyone’s telling you you suck,” Brady said on air.¹⁷
He then added: “Tom Brady too weak, couldn’t stand in the pocket…lacks a really strong arm, that was kinda bulls***.”¹⁸
Fox didn’t discipline Brady for that incident either.
Social media was filled with fans noting that Brady apparently gets to play by different rules.
“It’s Tom Brady, the G.O.A.T. can say what he likes,” one fan wrote.¹⁹
Another added, “It’s Fox. You can get away with anything at Fox.”²⁰
Fox Sports created this monster
Fox Sports knew exactly what they were getting when they signed Brady.
The network had watched him curse like a sailor on NFL sidelines for more than two decades.
They saw how the FCC received complaints about his profanity during his playing days.
They knew about his disregard for standard broadcasting protocols.
And they gave him $375 million anyway.
Now Fox finds itself in an impossible position.
Fire Brady and eat the most expensive broadcasting contract in history.
Or look the other way while their lead analyst drops F-bombs on Sunday afternoon broadcasts when families are watching.
Fox chose option two.
Brady’s getting away with behavior that would get any other broadcaster suspended or fined.
He’s skipping the preparation work that comes with the job.
And he’s using Fox’s platform to benefit his Las Vegas Raiders ownership stake while supposedly remaining impartial.
The Sunday F-bomb incident proves what everyone already knew.
Tom Brady plays by his own rules.
Fox Sports is just paying him $375 million to do it.
