The French government just got caught in one lie about Brigitte Macron that blew up in their faces

Oct 30, 2025

France is trying to silence an American journalist.

Their excuse for attacking free speech just fell apart in spectacular fashion.

And the French government just got caught in one lie about Brigitte Macron that blew up in their faces.

Élysée Palace caught with their hand in the cookie jar

The French government wants you to believe hackers broke into their tax system and changed Brigitte Macron's name to "Jean-Michel, known as Brigitte Macron."¹

That's their story and they're sticking to it.

There's just one problem – it's complete nonsense.

Tristan Bromet, the First Lady's chief of staff, insists the tax website section is "impossible to modify" from outside and that "no external intervention is supposed to be possible."²

So sophisticated hackers somehow cracked France's secure government database to change one name?

And that name just happens to match the exact conspiracy theory the Macrons have spent millions in legal fees trying to suppress?

What are the odds?

Here's what actually happened.

A Corsican couple admitted they changed Macron's name in the database as a protest against government policy.³

The French government tried to prosecute them.

But the couple proved in court that a "tax administrative bug" existed that allowed the name change.⁴

They got acquitted.⁵

The Macrons are appealing because the truth destroyed their cover story.⁶

Foreign government wages war on American free speech

This isn't about protecting someone's reputation.

It's about a foreign government trying to criminalize journalism and silence American citizens.

Candace Owens produced an eight-part investigative series called "Becoming Brigitte" examining claims about the French First Lady's background.⁷

She did what journalists are supposed to do – asked questions, requested interviews, investigated publicly available information.

The Macrons refused to answer her questions and filed a 218-page lawsuit in Delaware instead.⁸

"This is a foreign government attacking the First Amendment rights of an American independent journalist," Owens' spokesperson said.⁹

They're not wrong.

Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron are using American courts to wage lawfare against a journalist who asked questions they didn't like.

Sound familiar?

Democrats and their allies spent years weaponizing the legal system against Donald Trump.

Now foreign governments are getting in on the act.

The Macrons' lawyer Tom Clare promised to present "photographic and scientific evidence" proving Brigitte Macron is a biological woman.¹⁰

That was nine months ago.

Where's the evidence?

If you had proof that would instantly win your case and destroy your critics, wouldn't you present it immediately?

Instead, they threaten "substantial damages" and file more lawsuits.¹¹

Owens repeatedly asked for an interview to hear Brigitte Macron's side directly.¹²

The First Lady won't sit down and answer questions.

She'd rather let lawyers do the talking.

That's not how innocent people act.

France criminalizes speech while official records expose the truth

Ten people are facing criminal prosecution in Paris for questioning Brigitte Macron's background online.¹³

Not civil lawsuits – criminal charges.

Prison time.

The defendants include a computer scientist, an elected politician, a teacher, and a purported medium named Delphine Jegousse who posted a YouTube video examining the claims.¹⁴

Their crime?

Spreading what prosecutors called "malicious comments" about the First Lady.¹⁵

In America, we call that the First Amendment.

In France, they call it cyberbullying and throw you in jail.

The chief judge claimed these social media posts caused "a deterioration of her physical and mental health" in Brigitte Macron.¹⁶

She was so traumatized she couldn't even show up to her own trial.¹⁷

But she's healthy enough to file multiple international lawsuits and wage a global legal campaign.

This is the third time the Macrons have tried to use courts to silence critics.

In September 2024, Brigitte and her brother won a defamation case against two women.

A Paris appeals court overturned that verdict in July 2025, ruling the women acted in "good faith."¹⁸

The conspiracy theory they're trying to suppress claims Brigitte was born as Jean-Michel Trogneux – her brother's actual name – and later transitioned.

And France's official government tax records listed her as exactly that.

The Macrons can blame hackers all they want.

But a French court acquitted the people accused of the "hack" after they proved the government's database had a vulnerability anyone could exploit.

How convenient that this vulnerability allowed changes that match claims the Macrons are desperately trying to silence worldwide.

How many other French government records contain information the Élysée Palace doesn't want public?

The pattern is obvious to anyone paying attention.

Official records show something problematic, so blame hackers.

Questions get asked, so sue the questioners.

Evidence emerges, so claim it was fabricated.

People talk online, so criminally prosecute them.

This is exactly what Democrats did to Trump – weaponize courts, claim every piece of evidence is fake, silence critics through legal intimidation.

The Macrons learned from the best.

If Brigitte Macron has nothing to hide, sit for the interview with Candace Owens.

Present the scientific evidence promised nine months ago.

Explain why official French government records listed her under a different name.

Answer the questions instead of hiding behind lawyers and foreign lawsuits.

But they won't.

Because the French government got caught in a lie, and now they're scrambling to silence anyone who noticed.

That acquittal in French court proved their hacking story is garbage.

And no amount of international lawfare will change that fact.
