Taylor Swift’s wedding to Travis Kelce is supposed to be a celebration.
But one unexpected complication just emerged.
And Taylor Swift faces one awkward question that will make guests at her wedding with Travis Kelce uncomfortable.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announced their engagement on August 26, capturing the world’s attention with a romantic garden proposal complete with pink and white roses.¹
The couple’s fairy tale romance has captivated fans since they went public in 2023 when Swift started attending Chiefs games.
Now Swift faces a delicate situation involving one of her closest friends and an ex-boyfriend.
Zoe Kravitz dating Harry Styles creates wedding guest list dilemma
Actress Zoe Kravitz has been romantically linked to Harry Styles since August 2025 when they were spotted walking arm-in-arm in Rome.²
Swift and Kravitz are extremely close friends, which normally wouldn’t be an issue for the wedding guest list.
The problem? Harry Styles is Swift’s ex-boyfriend from back in 2012-2013.
Insiders revealed that Kravitz wants to bring Styles as her plus-one to the Swift-Kelce wedding.
“Zoe’s falling hard for Harry, and she’s very close to Taylor, so if it were up to her, they’d all be double-dating, but there’s no way that will fly with Taylor or Travis,” a source told Closer Online UK.³
The situation puts Swift in an uncomfortable position of potentially having to deny her close friend the chance to bring her new boyfriend.
Swift swears publicly she doesn’t mind that Kravitz is dating Styles.
But sources say she won’t put herself or Kelce in that awkward position on their wedding day.
“Taylor swears up and down that she doesn’t mind that Zoe is dating Harry, but she’s also not going to put herself, or Travis, in an uncomfortable position,” the insider stated.³
Swift and Styles have history Swift doesn’t want at her wedding
Swift and Styles dated from late 2012 until early January 2013 in a whirlwind romance that became known as “Haylor.”⁴
The relationship ended badly during a New Year’s vacation to the British Virgin Islands when they got into a massive fight.⁵
Swift famously left the vacation early and was photographed alone on a boat in a blue dress – an image that went viral and became iconic.⁶
She later referenced that exact moment in her song “Is It Over Now?” with the lyrics “Blue dress / On a boat / Your new girl / Is my clone.”⁷
The breakup clearly wasn’t friendly at the time, with sources claiming “they were on holiday and had an almighty row.”⁸
Swift went on to write multiple songs about Styles on her album “1989,” including “Style,” “Out of the Woods,” and several vault tracks.⁹
Styles also appeared to write songs about Swift, with fans convinced “Two Ghosts” from his debut album was about their relationship.¹⁰
While the two have been friendly in public since then – even chatting at the 2023 Grammy Awards – having your ex at your wedding is a different story.¹¹
Swift isn’t about to turn her special day into an episode of awkward celebrity encounters.
Sources say Swift and Styles are “actually on friendly terms and have been for a while, but still, there’s history there.”³
Kravitz doesn’t see the problem with bringing Harry to the wedding
The insider revealed that Kravitz has no concerns about the situation and doesn’t understand why it might be awkward.
“Zoe is super chill, she grew up in Hollywood with a rock star dad, so the fact that Harry and Taylor dated doesn’t really faze her, and it doesn’t seem to have crossed her mind that it might be uncomfortable for Taylor and Travis,” the source explained.³
Kravitz’s relationship with Styles appears to be heating up quickly.
The couple has been spotted together in Rome, London, New York, and Berlin since August.¹²
Styles even met Kravitz’s famous father, rocker Lenny Kravitz, over lunch in New York in September – a sign things are getting serious.¹³
Sources told Page Six the couple is “definitely a couple” after multiple public outings holding hands.¹⁴
The pair was recently spotted spending nine hours in a recording studio together in New York, suggesting they’re collaborating musically as well.¹⁵
But despite how serious Styles and Kravitz are becoming, Swift has every right to set boundaries for her own wedding day.
Nobody wants to spend their wedding reception making awkward small talk with an ex-boyfriend while their new husband watches.
Swift planned every detail of her career and life with precision over the years.
She’s not about to let an uncomfortable guest list situation overshadow the biggest day of her life with Kelce.
The smart money says Kravitz will either come solo or skip the wedding entirely if she can’t bring Styles.
Swift worked too hard to get to this happy ending to let an ex-boyfriend’s presence create unnecessary drama.
