Conservatives still mourn the tragic loss of Charlie Kirk.
The martyred activist's legacy continues inspiring millions.
And a Target employee wearing a Charlie Kirk shirt got attacked by a California nurse who instantly regretted it.
Liberal nurse films herself berating elderly Target worker
Monday started as just another workday for Jeanie, an elderly Target employee stocking shelves at the Chico, California location.
She wore a red "Freedom" shirt featuring Charlie Kirk's name—completely within Target's dress code allowing any red shirt.
Then Michelea Ponce walked up with her phone camera rolling and everything changed.
"Are you f***ing stupid?" Ponce demanded, filming the elderly woman while she worked. "You support a racist?"¹
Ponce, a nurse at Enloe Health nonprofit healthcare system, works in patient care roles where she's supposed to show compassion.
She showed none of that to Jeanie.
The activist nurse—who describes herself as "anti-racism" on social media—repeatedly berated the elderly worker while Jeanie calmly explained Target's dress code policy.
"He is NOT a racist—that's your opinion, have a nice day," Jeanie finally responded before walking away with quiet dignity.¹
Ponce didn't stop there.
She kept filming, threatening "this is going to be taken above your f***ing head" and demanding to speak with managers.¹
The TikTok activist with 19,600 followers and 1.1 million likes posted the confrontation to her @motherofballers account expecting sympathy.
She got the opposite.
Americans rally behind Target employee with massive fundraiser
The video exploded across social media platforms reaching millions of viewers.
But instead of celebrating Ponce's activism, Americans across the political spectrum condemned her bullying behavior.
Conservatives immediately organized a GiveSendGo fundraiser titled "Give Jeanie from Target a Vacation."
The campaign launched Tuesday with the goal of giving Jeanie "a much-needed vacation" to "relax, recharge and just forget about the ugliness."²
Within 24 hours, donations poured in from across America.
The fundraiser surpassed $60,000 by Tuesday evening, climbing toward a $100,000 goal.²
"This individual berated her fellow Californian with unwarranted fury because she was wearing a shirt supporting Charlie Kirk," the fundraiser organizers explained.²
Even some liberals criticized Ponce's confrontation as crossing the line.
"She was outright nasty to the employee, that's not how we need to be treating each other regardless of opinion," one social media user wrote.³
Turning Point USA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet asked supporters to help him get in touch with Jeanie to "personally thank her and send her some gifts."⁴
Conservative media personality Benny Johnson called the incident "evil behavior" in a post viewed more than 300,000 times.⁴
Meshawn Maddock praised Jeanie's composure: "Very proud of that woman for remaining calm and for her boldness in standing up for herself and for Charlie."⁵
Ponce faces investigation and calls for termination
While Americans rallied behind Jeanie, internet investigators went to work on Ponce.
They quickly identified her as an Enloe Health employee and shared her workplace contact information across social media.
The Chico Police Department confirmed they're "actively investigating the incident" after the video circulated online.⁶
Enloe Health released a statement saying they were "deeply concerned about" the video posted on their employee's personal social media account.⁴
Citizens flooded the nonprofit healthcare system with calls demanding answers about whether Ponce's behavior reflected their values.
Reports surfaced alleging Ponce has a lengthy criminal history including disturbing the peace, battery against a spouse, criminal threats, violations of protective orders, assault, and child endangerment—though these claims remain unverified.²
Ponce quickly deleted the TikTok video and made her account private, but the damage was done.
Critics noted the stunning hypocrisy of an "anti-racism activist" who previously petitioned Orland City Council to fly the Mexican flag on public property while trying to ban a private citizen from wearing a political t-shirt at work.
The double standard reveals everything wrong with the modern Left's approach to free expression.
Free speech apparently only applies when it aligns with their approved viewpoints.
Charlie Kirk's legacy lives on through everyday Americans
Jeanie's grace under pressure perfectly embodied the values Charlie Kirk spent his life promoting.
The Turning Point USA founder inspired millions of young conservatives before his tragic assassination on September 10 while speaking at Utah Valley University.
Vice President JD Vance told mourners at the White House memorial: "If it weren't for Charlie Kirk, I would not be the Vice President of the United States."⁷
Kirk built a movement empowering ordinary Americans to stand firm for their beliefs despite intense pressure from leftist activists.
Jeanie demonstrated exactly that courage when confronted by Ponce's aggression.
She didn't back down or apologize for honoring Kirk's memory.
She calmly stood her ground, explained her rights, and walked away with dignity—ending the confrontation with a polite "have a nice day" that likely meant something else entirely.
Now Americans are rewarding that quiet strength with tens of thousands of dollars so she can enjoy a well-deserved break from retail work.
Ponce wanted to silence conservative expression through public shaming and intimidation.
Instead she united Americans in defense of a Target employee's right to honor a martyred conservative hero.
That's not how the cancel culture mob thought their playbook was supposed to work.
