Sources confirm a shock Nancy Pelosi retirement announcement as ex-Speaker hangs up her insider trading advantage

Nov 3, 2025

Nancy Pelosi's 38-year reign of terror in Washington, DC is finally coming to an end.

Democrats would-be-heirs see the writing on the wall and they may have just pounced.

And sources confirm the bombshell Nancy Pelosi retirement announcement is imminent as ex-Speaker hangs up her insider trading advantage.

Pelosi's four-decade nightmare draws to a close

President Trump's landslide victory over Kamala Harris sent Democrats into panic mode nationwide.

But nothing prepared the party for what's coming next.

Multiple Democrat officials in California and Washington, D.C. confirmed to NBC News that Nancy Pelosi, 85, won't seek reelection in 2026.¹

"I think she's preparing to exit the stage," a House Democrat leadership aide told NBC News.²

The timing of this announcement isn't coincidental.

Pelosi recently threw her weight behind California's Proposition 50, a ballot measure aimed at redrawing congressional district lines to benefit Democrats in the 2026 midterm elections.³

"I think she's out," one House Democrat from California said. "She's going to go out with Prop 50 overwhelmingly passing, and what a crowning achievement for her to do that."⁴

The wicked witch is finally heading for the exit.

Trump broke Pelosi's iron grip on power

Pelosi first won her San Francisco seat in 1987 after Representative Sala Burton handpicked her as a successor.⁵

She quickly climbed the Democrat Party ladder by mastering one skill above all others: fundraising for corrupt colleagues.

Pelosi harvested $1.25 billion for Democrats since she took over party leadership.⁶

That money bought her power, loyalty, and the Speaker's gavel twice.

She became the first female House Speaker in 2007 and reclaimed the position in 2019.⁷

But Trump's second election victory destroyed what remained of her political relevance.

The woman who orchestrated two sham impeachments against Trump watched him return to the White House in triumph.

She pushed Joe Biden out of the 2024 race, only to see her handpicked replacement Kamala Harris get demolished at the polls.

Now she's watching potential successors circle her coveted House seat like vultures.

State Senator Scott Wiener and former tech executive Saikat Chakrabarti – who previously served as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's chief of staff – have already entered the race for her district.⁸

Pelosi's legacy of destruction

Pelosi leaves behind a trail of constitutional wreckage that will take years to repair.

On May 27, 2020, she authorized the first proxy vote in Congressional history, allowing members to outsource their constitutional duty to vote to other representatives.⁹

Kevin McCarthy filed a lawsuit calling proxy voting unconstitutional because the Constitution requires members to be "actually present" to form a quorum or have their votes recorded.¹⁰

The Supreme Court declined to hear the case, but that didn't make Pelosi's scheme any less corrupt.¹¹

For more than two years, she extended proxy voting unilaterally, allowing Democrats to collect paychecks without showing up for work.

In 2020, one Maryland Democrat cast seven votes on legislation in districts he didn't even represent.¹²

More than 70 Democrats regularly voted by proxy while Republicans showed up to do their jobs.¹³

When asked about extending proxy voting in August 2022, Pelosi cited COVID-19 as justification – despite Biden declaring months earlier that the pandemic was over.¹⁴

The scheme finally ended in January 2023 when Republicans took control of the House and McCarthy became Speaker.

Last month, Pelosi went on a profanity-laced tirade during an NBC interview about government shutdown negotiations.

"In fact, I've listened to their s**t, and I tell them to go f**k themselves," Pelosi said, claiming she was quoting Trump.¹⁵

"I can't believe I used that word," she added. "My kids will be shocked. My grandchildren will be further shocked."¹⁶

The comments revealed what Trump supporters have known for years.

Pelosi isn't well.

The 85-year-old has managed multiple health scares while clinging to power, including her husband's attack by a hammer-wielding intruder at their San Francisco home in 2022.¹⁷

She's currently serving her 20th term in Congress, making her the longest-serving member of California's delegation.¹⁸

Progressive Representative Ro Khanna tried putting lipstick on a pig by calling her a "stateswoman" who "belongs to the ages."¹⁹

But voters know better.

They watched Pelosi shred the Constitution, weaponize impeachment, and turn Congress into a partisan circus.

Now they're about to watch her finally leave Washington after nearly four decades of destruction.
