Kamala Harris bungles response to second hurricane
Kamala Harris botched the response to Hurricane Helene.
While the storms ripped through the Southeast United States, Kamala Harris abandoned the people to fend for themselves while she attended a star-studded fundraiser in California.
The Biden-Kamala Harris administration then waited days to mobilize military resources to assist the rescue and recovery operation.
Kamala tried for a do-over as Hurricane Milton threatened Florida with Biblical levels of destruction.
Tampa mayor Jane Castor warned that anyone who remained behind in an evacuation zone would “die.”
Trying to make it look like she was on the ball, Kamala tried to stage a campaign photo op by calling Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
DeSantis was busy trying to save as many lives as possible in preparation for a once-in-a-century storm and didn’t have time for Kamala Harris’ campaign call.
Kamala created another negative news cycle for herself by attacking DeSantis as “selfish” for trying to ready his state for the destruction ahead.
“Playing political games at this moment in these crisis situations — these are the height of emergency situations — is just utterly irresponsible and it is selfish and it is about political gamesmanship,” Kamala Harris told reporters.
Ron DeSantis lights up Kamala Harris
Ron DeSantis fired right back at Kamala Harris in an interview with Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity.
DeSantis explained to Hannity that he spoke to all the relevant emergency management authorities and was working around the clock to ready the state for a storm, which is the worst-case scenario.
The Florida Governor blasted Kamala as “delusional” for thinking he was being “selfish.”
“We’ve been laser focused on leveraging all resources…I’ve been in touch with both FEMA and the President as well as marshaling our state agencies and working to support our local communities and so, for Kamala Harris tried to say that my sole focus on the people of Florida is somehow selfish is delusional,” DeSantis stated.
Kamala Harris is the Vice President.
Kamala can’t approve emergency declarations or order federal resources around.
DeSantis said in the three-and-a-half years she’s been in office she’s played no role in any of the hurricane preparation or recovery efforts he’s overseen.
Kamala wanting a political photo op out of the storm is what’s actually “selfish,” DeSantis told Hannity.
“She has no role in this. In fact, she’s been vice president for three and a half years, I’ve dealt with a number of storms under this administration, she has never contributed anything to any of these efforts and so, what I think is selfish is her trying to blunder into this…Here’s the thing – she has no role – know, she has no role in this process,” DeSantis added.
DeSantis told Hannity that not even Joe Biden tried to politicize a storm in the ham-fisted fashion Kamala Harris is trying to with Milton.
“I’m in contact with the president of the United States. I’m in contact with the FEMA director, I’m obviously managing a lower state agencies. We’re supporting our local government and I will say this. I’ve had storms under President Trump and President Biden and I’ve worked well with both of them. She is the first one was trying to politicize the storm and she’s doing that just because of her campaign. She’s trying to get some type of an edge,” DeSantis continued.
DeSantis said Kamala knows she bungled how she handled Hurricane Helene, but DeSantis “doesn’t have time” for Kamala Harris’ campaign trail theatrics.
“She knows she’s doing poorly and so she’s playing these political games. I don’t have time for political games. I’ve got people whose lives are on the line. I’ve got people whose homes and their positions are on the line and we are focused 100% on that mission. I’m not worried about playing her political games earmark and so, she is being selfish by trying to blunder into this when we’re working just fine,” Ron DeSantis concluded.
