Hollywood let another predator hide in plain sight for decades.
Now prosecutors just revealed a stunning pattern stretching back to 1994 that the industry desperately tried to bury.
And prosecutors just exposed disturbing new details about Emmy-winning actor Timothy Busfield's 30-year pattern that Hollywood tried to hide.
New Victim Comes Forward In Timothy Busfield Child Sex Abuse Case
Timothy Busfield sits behind bars in Albuquerque facing charges he abused two 7-year-old twin boys on the set of Fox's The Cleaning Lady.
But on Tuesday, prosecutors dropped a bombshell.
A new victim came forward — a 16-year-old girl who says Busfield sexually abused her years ago at his B Street Theatre in Sacramento, California.
Her father says Busfield sexually assaulted his daughter during what was supposed to be a theater audition.
According to prosecutors, Busfield pleaded with the family to stay quiet in exchange for seeking treatment.
Colin Swift, a therapist, believed at the time that private therapy was the right path forward.
Prosecutors filed a motion Wednesday demanding Busfield be held without bail.
They laid out what they call a "documented pattern of sexual misconduct, abuse of authority, and grooming behavior" stretching back over 30 years.
Timothy Busfield Faced Sexual Assault Allegations In 1994
A 17-year-old extra on the set of Little Big League sued Busfield in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
She claimed he assaulted her, served her alcohol, groped her, and attempted to have sex with her in a trailer.
Busfield denied everything and countersued for extortion.
The case settled privately.
Busfield paid $150,000 in legal fees.
Hollywood kept hiring him to direct shows with child actors on set.
Second Allegation Against Busfield Emerged In 2012
A 28-year-old woman accused Busfield of battery in a Los Angeles movie theater.
She alleged he slipped his hand under her clothes and touched her genitals for four minutes.
Los Angeles cops took a report.
Prosecutors declined to file charges.
Busfield claimed the encounter was consensual.
His career kept rolling.
Warner Bros Investigation Delayed Police In Timothy Busfield Case
Here's what should make every parent furious.
Warner Bros allegedly made it difficult for police to investigate Busfield.
Detective Brown wanted to question other children who worked on the show to make sure they were safe.
Warner Bros said no — police had to work through the studio's legal team.
The studio conducted its own internal investigation after an anonymous complaint came through the SAG-AFTRA hotline.
That investigation found no corroborating evidence that Busfield engaged in inappropriate conduct.
Detective Brown had to get a search warrant just to obtain a copy of the studio's investigative report.
It took three months for Warner Bros to turn it over.
Prosecutors are now slamming Warner Bros for "limited cooperation" with law enforcement.
A major studio had credible allegations that a director abused children on set.
They made cops jump through hoops to get basic information.
How Timothy Busfield Allegedly Groomed Child Actors On The Cleaning Lady Set
According to the arrest warrant, Busfield allegedly used textbook grooming tactics on the twin boys.
He told them to call him "Uncle Tim."
He and his wife Melissa Gilbert bought the children Christmas gifts.
They invited the family to social gatherings.
Detective Brown wrote that "pedophiles often infiltrate families under a trusted role, like Timothy, who, as a producer, exploited the hectic film sets to tickle and touch SL on his penis and buttocks, masking it as play."
This is how predators operate in Hollywood.
They exploit the power structure.
Directors control who gets hired, who gets fired, who gets more screen time.
Parents of child actors know this.
And predators use that power to gain access.
Medical Records Show PTSD In Timothy Busfield Abuse Case
Busfield's lawyers claim the twin boys' mother wanted "revenge" because her sons weren't brought back for the final season of The Cleaning Lady.
Busfield told police actress Elodie Yung told him the mother vowed to get revenge.
But prosecutors have receipts.
The boys were examined by a doctor at the University of New Mexico Hospital in November 2024.
Medical records document grooming and sexual abuse concerns.
One boy has been diagnosed with PTSD and anxiety.
Therapy records show he has nightmares about Busfield touching him and wakes up scared.
Does that sound like a mother coaching her kids for revenge?
Pattern Of Sexual Misconduct In Hollywood Enabled Busfield For Decades
Harvey Weinstein got away with it for decades.
Spacey's predatory behavior was such an open secret that Family Guy joked about it in 2005.
Bryan Singer faced accusation after accusation before anything stuck.
The playbook never changes — whisper campaigns, hush money, and finally arrests when victims go public.
Hollywood's calculation is simple.
Does this person make us money?
Will the scandal cost us more?
Can we bury it with settlements?
The answer for years was yes — pay off victims, keep the machine running.
What's Next For Timothy Busfield After Arrest In Albuquerque
Busfield appeared in New Mexico court Wednesday for his first hearing.
Prosecutors argue he poses "an ongoing and serious danger to children and the community."
If convicted on all charges involving the twin boys, Busfield could face decades in state prison.
New Mexico law hands down especially harsh sentences when sex crimes involve children under 13 years old.
The California case involving the 16-year-old could lead to additional charges.
Busfield's attorney insists the allegations are "completely false."
But prosecutors now have something they didn't have before — a pattern.
Three decades of allegations.
Multiple victims across multiple states.
The kind of pattern that juries understand.
Every parent who lets their child work in entertainment should be asking one question.
How many other "Uncle Tims" are buying Christmas gifts and gaining trust while no one's watching?
