Prince Harry and his family had a high-profile falling out.
He hoped that things would turn around.
And Prince Harry got some bad news from the British royal family that left him sick.
Prince Harry remains in the dark about the King’s fight against cancer
King Charles III was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer last February.
Prince Harry flew to the United Kingdom to visit with his father shortly after the announcement last year.
Royal insiders claim he’s gotten the cold shoulder from the British royal family since then.
Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, quit their royal duties in 2020 and moved to Southern California.
The couple caused a rift with the royal family after they began to air their grievances against them.
Even the king’s cancer battle hasn’t brought the family back together.
Royal sources told People magazine that Harry’s phone calls and letters to his family are being ignored.
“I don’t think there is any rapprochement,” a palace source said. “Nothing has changed.”
Harry reportedly hasn’t talked to his father since their meeting last February.
The Duke of Sussex only found out that his dad was hospitalized in March due to side effects from his cancer treatment from the media.
Prince William hasn’t answered a phone call from his brother for years, according to royal insiders.
Courtroom battle between the royals deepens the rift
Harry and Meghan had their British taxpayer-funded security pulled after they quit their roles as working members of the royal family.
He sued the royal family to get his security restored when he’s in the United Kingdom because he argued that his family isn’t safe when they visit the country.
The Duke of Sussex won’t bring Meghan and his two children to the United Kingdom unless his taxpayer-funded security is restored.
Critics have argued that he could pay for his own security after he and his wife earned an estimated $120 million from a deal with Netflix.
Royal insiders claim that this legal battle is only adding to the tension between Harry and his family.
Harry traveled to London to attend a courtroom hearing in the case, but notably didn’t meet with anyone in his family during the trip.
His lawyers argued that the prince was “singled out” for “inferior treatment” when he was stripped of his security.
Charles is keeping his distance from Harry because of the ongoing legal battle over security.
“[The legal battle] puts Harry in direct contact with the people who are carrying out the King’s orders,” royal author Sally Bedell Smith told People. “If his father was to say something even seemingly innocuous, it could end up landing in the middle of the court case.”
Harry believes that his father has the power to restore his security if he wanted to.
The prince trashed his family in interviews and his tell-all 2023 memoir, Spare.
Reconciling with them is going to be harder than he thought after he burned his bridges.
Harry could face an uphill battle to ever get things back to normal with the royal family.
