Peter Doocy has made a career out of asking the tough questions that other reporters won’t touch.
He caught the White House press secretary completely off-guard with his latest inquiry.
And Peter Doocy got Karoline Leavitt with one question that left her cheeks flushed.
Doocy drops bombshell question about NYC mayoral candidate
Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy delivered a curveball that nobody saw coming during Monday’s White House press briefing.
The veteran reporter zeroed in on New York City’s presumptive Democrat mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani and whether the Trump administration believes he should face denaturalization proceedings.
Republican Tennessee Representative Andy Ogles had requested that Attorney General Pam Bondi investigate whether Mamdani should lose his citizenship over disturbing rap lyrics he penned in 2017.
"There’s this congressman, Andy Ogles, who wants Attorney General Pam Bondi to explore denaturalization proceedings because he thinks Mamdani could have represented or concealed material support for terrorism based on rap lyrics he wrote in 2017," Doocy asked. "Does President Trump think this is [a] worthwhile use of the attorney general’s time?"
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt appeared caught off-guard by the specific nature of the question.
"Well I’ll let the president speak to that. I have not seen those claims. But surely if they are true, it is something that should be investigated," Leavitt responded.
The exchange highlighted just how deep the radical Left has infiltrated major American cities when even their mayoral candidates are under scrutiny for potential terrorist sympathies.
Congressman demands investigation into Mamdani’s terror ties
Representative Ogles didn’t pull any punches in his letter to Attorney General Bondi about the Uganda-born, naturalized American citizen.
Mamdani rapped the words "Free the Holy Land Five/My guys" in a 2017 song in apparent solidarity with The Holy Land Foundation leadership who were convicted of providing material support to Hamas in 2008.
The Holy Land Foundation was the largest terrorism financing case in American history, with its leaders sentenced to lengthy federal prison terms for funneling millions of dollars to the Palestinian terrorist organization.
"Publicly praising the Foundation’s convicted leadership as ‘my guys’ raises serious concerns about whether Mr. Mamdani held affirmations or sympathies he failed to disclose during the naturalization process," Ogles wrote in his letter.
The Tennessee Republican is asking tough questions that need answers about whether Mamdani was honest during his citizenship process.
Federal law requires naturalization applicants to disclose any associations with terrorist organizations or individuals who have engaged in terrorist activities.
If Mamdani concealed his sympathies for convicted terrorists, that could constitute grounds for denaturalization proceedings.
NYC mayoral candidate refuses to condemn terrorist rhetoric
Mamdani’s problems extend far beyond his 2017 rap lyrics supporting convicted terrorists.
The Democrat Socialist candidate has repeatedly refused to condemn the phrase "globalize the intifada," which the Anti-Defamation League describes as a call for "indiscriminate violence against Israel and potentially against Jews and Jewish institutions worldwide."
His refusal to distance himself from such inflammatory language raises serious questions about his fitness to lead America’s largest city.
Doocy pressed Leavitt on whether President Trump wants the naturalized citizen deported from the United States entirely.
The press secretary said Trump hasn’t expressed an opinion on deportation but confirmed the President is willing to work with officials across the political spectrum.
"The president is always willing to work with everyone," Leavitt explained. "He is always willing to work with Democrats across the country, Democrat governors and he said he’ll work with people on the far-left."
But she made it clear that Mamdani’s extreme ideology could make cooperation nearly impossible.
"Surely someone who holds these values and is quite literally a communist and condemns every value that makes this country great, common sense, law and order, low taxes, working hard and earning your keep in this country. He’s against all of that and I think the president would find it difficult to work with someone like that if [Mamdani] is elected," Leavitt stated.
Radical agenda threatens NYC’s future
Mamdani’s policy positions read like a socialist manifesto that would devastate New York City’s already struggling economy.
The self-described Democrat Socialist supports freezing rent across the city, which would destroy incentives for property maintenance and new construction.
He wants to raise the minimum wage to an astronomical $30 per hour, a move that would force countless small businesses to close their doors permanently.
His plan for government-run buses, childcare facilities, and grocery stores would turn the city into a socialist experiment at taxpayers’ expense.
Mamdani has also defended his plan to dramatically increase taxes on what he calls "richer and whiter" neighborhoods, using racial rhetoric to justify his wealth redistribution schemes.
"Hopefully the voters of New York City chose wisely," Leavitt concluded during the briefing.
The stakes couldn’t be higher for America’s largest city.
New Yorkers have already endured years of rising crime, business exodus, and failed progressive policies under current leadership.
Electing someone with apparent sympathies for terrorist organizations and a radical communist agenda would accelerate the city’s decline.
Representative Ogles deserves credit for demanding answers about Mamdani’s background and potential terrorist connections.
If the naturalized citizen concealed material information during his citizenship process or provided support to terrorist-linked organizations, the American people have a right to know.
Attorney General Bondi should thoroughly investigate these serious allegations and take appropriate action if evidence supports denaturalization proceedings.
America’s cities are too important to be handed over to radical extremists who celebrate convicted terrorists and push communist policies that destroy prosperity and freedom.
