Pete Hegseth gave one update about DOGE that left the Swamp in terror

Pete Hegseth is shaking things up at the Pentagon.

Business as usual came to a screeching halt.

And Pete Hegseth gave one update about DOGE that left the Swamp in terror.

DOGE finds $80 million in waste in its initial audit

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk and his team at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) are trying to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse from the federal government.

They took on their biggest challenge yet when they began to audit the Department of Defense.

The Pentagon has failed its annual audit for seven years in a row and can’t account for where its nearly $850 billion budget went.

Waste, fraud, and abuse at the Pentagon are legendary.

A commission in the 1980s found that the Defense Department was paying $400 for a hammer and $600 for a toilet seat.

DOGE found $80 million in savings during its initial audit of the agency’s massive budget.

Top Defense Department spokesman Sean Parnell highlighted some of DOGE’s findings in a video posted to social media.

Millions of dollars were still being spent on various Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs throughout the military.

President Donald Trump and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth have made it a top priority to purge the military of DEI.

The University of Montana received $6 million to “strengthen American democracy by bridging divides.”

$1.6 million was given to the University of Florida for research on “social and institutional detriments of vulnerability and resilience to climate hazards in the African Sahel.”

“You see, folks, this stuff is not a core function of our military,” Parnell said. “This is not what we do. This is a distraction from our core mission.”

Parnell noted that this was just the beginning of DOGE’s audit of the Department of Defense.

“Stay tuned. Today’s actions are just the start,” Parnell stated.

Hegseth has embraced working with DOGE to find waste and make the Pentagon more efficient.

“Again, we are working hand in glove with DOGE,” Parnell added. “So stay tuned in the weeks ahead, as we trim the fat, preserve muscle, make the DoD more mission-capable and more lethal.”

Hegseth directs civilian employees at the Pentagon to work with DOGE

DOGE has come under fire from Democrats and their public relations team in the media for trying to cut government spending and waste.

Musk sent an email that created a firestorm in the Swamp for asking federal employees to list five things they did on the job last week.

The email was described as a “pulse check” by Musk.

Hegseth ordered civilian employees at the Defense Department to respond to the email.

The Secretary of Defense supported DOGE’s work to root out waste.

“They care just like we do, to find the redundancies and identify the last vestiges of Biden priorities — the DEI, the woke, the climate change B.S., that’s not core to our mission, and we’re going to get rid of it all,” Hegseth explained.

Former President Joe Biden’s attempt to turn the military into a sociology experiment is coming to an end under Hegseth.
