Pam Bondi and Justice Department lowered the boom on illegal aliens with shocking border enforcement numbers

May 18, 2025

The Biden-Harris administration left America’s border completely wide open.

President Trump promised he would fix it on day one.

And Pam Bondi and the Justice Department just lowered the boom on illegal aliens with shocking border enforcement numbers.

Trump administration moves with lightning speed to secure the border

President Donald Trump has wasted no time making good on his campaign promise to secure the southern border and remove illegal aliens from American communities.

The Department of Justice announced Tuesday that U.S. Attorneys for southwestern border districts have charged more than 1,400 illegal aliens with immigration-related crimes during just the second week of May as part of Operation Take Back America.

The massive enforcement operation covers Arizona, Central California, Southern California, New Mexico, Southern Texas, and Western Texas, and includes charges of assault on federal officers, human smuggling, illegal reentry after deportation, and drug importation.

“We are grateful for the hard work of our border prosecutors in bringing these cases and helping to make our border safe again,” the Justice Department stated in its May 13 announcement.

The shocking numbers prove that only President Trump has the determination to actually enforce America’s immigration laws after the previous administration allowed virtually unchecked illegal immigration for four years.

Southern border districts report massive enforcement numbers

Each border district contributed to the enforcement operation with hundreds of prosecutions:

The Southern District of California filed 176 border-related cases, including charges against five people involved in a human smuggling operation that led to the deaths of at least three migrants, including a 14-year-old boy from India. His 10-year-old sister is missing at sea and presumed dead, while their father is in a coma.

The Central District of California charged 34 defendants who were in the U.S. after being previously deported, many with prior felony convictions.

The District of New Mexico charged approximately 300 defendants with border-related crimes, including 91 illegal reentry cases. Another 209 individuals were charged with both illegal entry and violating military security regulations by unlawfully entering a National Defense Area in New Mexico.

The Southern District of Texas filed 300 cases against 302 people in the same one-week period. Of these, 93 face illegal reentry charges, with most having prior felony convictions for narcotics, immigration crimes, or other offenses.

The Western District of Texas filed 316 new immigration and immigration-related criminal cases, including a significant case involving a stash house in Anthony, New Mexico, where 25 illegal aliens from Mexico, Peru, Honduras, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, and Pakistan were discovered.

The District of Arizona brought criminal charges against 314 defendants, including 117 illegal reentry cases, 166 illegal entry charges, and 31 individuals responsible for smuggling illegal aliens.

Operation Take Back America brings whole-of-government approach

The Justice Department described Operation Take Back America as “a nationwide initiative to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and protect our communities from perpetrators of violent crime.”

The operation combines resources from the Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces and Project Safe Neighborhood to streamline enforcement efforts against criminal aliens.

Attorney General Pam Bondi has made it clear that the days of catch-and-release are over. The Trump administration is utilizing every available law enforcement tool to secure America’s borders and protect law-abiding citizens.

The shocking enforcement numbers come as the Biden-Harris administration’s policies continue to be dismantled, with Trump’s executive orders ending programs like “parole in place” and reinstating the Remain in Mexico policy.

A human smuggling case highlighted in the DOJ’s announcement reveals the life-threatening dangers of Biden’s open borders policy. Border Patrol and Homeland Security Investigations agents discovered 25 illegal aliens in a stash house, and arrested three men – Cirilo Delgado-Alderete, Dilan Karim Valenzuela-Baca, and Antelmo Eligio Ramirez-Bernardo – charging them with conspiracy to transport and harbor illegal aliens.

Trump delivers results while Democrats obstruct

Despite Democrat obstruction in Congress, the Trump administration is showing Americans that strong leadership and determination can restore order at the southern border.

Just four months after taking office, President Trump has already overseen the deportation of thousands of illegal aliens, including many with criminal records who pose a threat to American communities.

The 1,400 prosecutions in a single week represent a dramatic increase from the previous administration, which had essentially abandoned immigration enforcement and created the worst border crisis in American history.

While Democrats continue to claim there is no border crisis, the Justice Department’s enforcement statistics tell a very different story – one of a nation reclaiming control of its sovereignty under President Trump’s decisive leadership.
