The GOP establishment thought they could wait President Trump out before making their move.
But the swamp-dwelling RINOs decided now was the time for action.
And one RINO sellout just did Trump dirty in the worst way ever.
RINO Senator comes out against key Trump nominee
The position of Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia is a key government position.
By virtue of jurisdiction, the government’s top prosecutor in D.C. oversees all political criminal and corruption cases.
Joe Biden’s Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia helped Hunter Biden avoid criminal charges by allegedly allowing the statute of limitations to expire on key allegations and targeted Trump supporters with what the Supreme Court ruled were unconstitutional prosecutions.
President Trump named conservative stalwart Ed Martin as his nominee to serve as Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia.
Martin’s nomination signaled to the legions inside the D.C. swamp that the days of the two-tiered justice system they existed under were over.
With Republicans controlling the Senate, Martin’s confirmation should have been smooth sailing.
Enter North Carolina RINO Thom Tillis.
Tillis’ name is always mentioned among the Senators scheming behind closed doors to hammer out an amnesty bill.
Tillis is one of the most vocal supporters of a blank check to fund the endless war in Ukraine.
And when it came down to crunch time, Tillis announced he would oppose Martin’s nomination for Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia.
“I’ve indicated to the White House I wouldn’t support his nomination,” Tillis told reporters.
Tillis cited Martin’s defense of the Trump supporters Joe Biden’s weaponized Justice Department unlawfully persecuted for the events of January 6.
“Where we probably have a difference is that I think anybody that breached the [Capitol] perimeter [on January 6th] should have been in prison for some period of time — whether it’s 30 days or three years is debatable, but I have no tolerance for anybody that entered the building on January 6th and that’s probably where most of the friction was,” Tillis added.
Tillis opposed Martin even though President Trump publicly announced the Senate confirming Martin was critical to his second term agenda.
The Trump family is furious
“According to many but, in particular, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., his approval is IMPERATIVE in terms of doing all that has to be done to SAVE LIVES and to, MAKE AMERICA HEALTHY AGAIN,” the President wrote on Truth Social. “The Cost of the Chronic Disease Epidemic has gotten out of control over the past four years of the Biden Presidency. We are going to take our Country BACK, and FAST. Ed Martin will be a big player in doing so and, I hope, that the Republican Senators will make a commitment to his approval, which is now before them.
Tillis’ betrayal also holds sinister consequences for President Trump.
Since Martin was only acting Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, the job now gets filled by D.C. District Court Judge James Boasberg, the same Obama judge who issued a lawless order attempting to assert that he – and not President Trump was the Commander-in-Chief – and stop the administration from deporting illegal alien terrorists to El Salvador.
But Tillis could pay a massive political price for his act of sabotage.
Donald Trump Jr. attacked Tillis as a fake Republican, the first hint that Trumpworld could get behind a conservative primary challenger to Tillis when he runs for re-election in 2026.
