Donald Trump has been locked in a high-stakes disagreement with Nikki Haley and her foreign policy allies ever since she tried and failed to beat him for the 2024 nomination.
After getting trounced, she had kept a low-public profile over their disagreements until now.
But now Nikki Haley just popped her head up only to fall flat attempting to smear Trump over the Air Force One controversy she helped create.
Nikki Haley denounced Trump’s Qatar plane deal after her Boeing board failures left Air Force One in limbo
Nikki Haley is pointing fingers at Donald Trump while trying to hide her own responsibility.
The failed presidential candidate who couldn’t deliver for Boeing is now criticizing a diplomatic solution to problems she helped create.
Nikki Haley unleashed a self-serving attack against President Trump for accepting a $400 million luxury plane from Qatar – conveniently forgetting her own role in Boeing’s catastrophic failure to deliver Air Force One on time.
In a pointed post on X, the former Boeing board member launched accusations that reveal her anxiety about Trump’s shifting Middle East strategy.
“Accepting gifts from foreign nations is never a good practice. It threatens intelligence and national security,” Haley wrote, seemingly oblivious to her own board oversight failures that left the President without a modern aircraft.
Her comments quickly turned to Qatar’s relationships in the Middle East.
“Especially when that nation supports a terrorist organization and allows those terrorist regimes to live on its soil,” Haley continued, using language that signals her frustration with Trump’s balanced approach to Middle Eastern powers.
Then came her most revealing statement about her pro-Israel stance.
“Regardless of how beautiful the plane may be, it opens a door and implies the President and US can be bought. If this were Biden, we would be furious,” she concluded, clearly troubled by the diplomatic implications.
What Haley doesn’t mention is her own direct connection to the Air Force One debacle.
During her time on Boeing’s board of directors from 2019 to 2020, the company was already falling behind on the Air Force One contract that had been signed in 2018.
Even more damning, Haley was on Boeing’s board when they were fumbling the Air Force One project that’s now years behind schedule and billions over budget.
The same Boeing that promised to deliver two new Air Force One planes by 2024 for $3.9 billion has completely failed to meet their obligations to America.
According to the Washington Post, Boeing has lost $2.5 billion on the Air Force One contract and now admits the planes won’t be ready until at least 2027.
Boeing keeps making excuses for their failures, blaming “supplier bankruptcy, security clearance delays, worker turnover, and pandemic disruptions.”
Meanwhile, the American President is flying around in 35-year-old planes from the George H.W. Bush era because Boeing can’t deliver.
President Trump, being the brilliant dealmaker he is, expressed his justified frustration with Boeing in February, telling reporters he was “not happy with Boeing” and might look elsewhere for solutions.
Qatar’s generous offer of a Boeing 747 luxury aircraft is exactly the kind of America First solution Trump is known for – getting amazing value for the American people at zero cost to taxpayers.
The administration has stated that ownership of the Qatari plane would be transferred to the Trump presidential library foundation shortly before the end of Trump’s second term.
By that time, Boeing might finally have completed at least one of their replacement Air Force One planes – if they can stop failing at every turn.
Boeing’s incompetence isn’t limited to Air Force One. The company has been losing money every year since 2019 and recently left American astronauts stranded in space for nine months when their Starliner capsule experienced propulsion problems.
And Haley wants to lecture Trump about accepting a free plane that solves a problem she helped create?
