Nancy Pelosi takes offense at Bernie Sanders
Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT) was first out of the gate with his assessment about why Donald Trump cleaned the Democrat Party’s clock on Election Day.
Sanders put out a statement excoriating his party for not going hard Left enough on socialist economic policies such as banning private health insurance as the reason for why Donald Trump cleaned up with working class voters of all races.
“It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them,” Sanders wrote.
“First, it was the white working class, and now it is Latino and Black workers as well. While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change. And they’re right,” Sanders added.
Donald Trump won voters who make less than $50,000 a year, a complete inversion of the normal political dynamic.
Trump also won 46 percent of Hispanic voters and 21 percent of black men.
Non-college educated voters went for Trump 56 to 42.
Running hard Left is political suicide.
Donald Trump savaged Kamala Harris in TV ads for stances she took in her 2020 Presidential campaign to align herself with the Sanders wing of the party.
Kamala Harris supported banning fracking, the Green New Deal, and trillions of dollars in tax hikes.
All of these positions would punish the working class.
Nancy Pelosi fires back
Nancy Pelosi took umbrage with Bernie Sanders claiming Democrats abandoned the working class.
“I have a great deal of respect for him, for what he stands for, but I don’t respect him saying that the Democratic Party has abandoned the working-class families. That’s where we are,” Pelosi told the New York Times.
Pelosi knew that Sanders’ comments were an indictment on her time as Speaker of the House.
To admit Sanders had a point would be conceding she helped Joe Biden and Kamala Harris drive the country into a ditch.
“Well, I just completely disagree. And, in fact, Kamala Harris ran ahead of Bernie Sanders in Vermont,” Pelosi added.
Pelosi then proceeded to falsely claim that all Trump did as President was cut taxes for wealthy Americans.
“It tells you that the fact is, what we do, what our purpose is in the Democratic Party, is for America’s working families,” Pelosi ranted.
“What did, what’s his name? What did Trump do when he was president? One bill that gave a tax cut to the richest people in America,” Pelosi continued.
Donald Trump delivered safe streets as crime and illegal immigration were lower in his Presidency.
Wages for the bottom ten percent of income earners grew faster than those for the top ten percent.
Inflation was also 1.4% when Trump left office.
Democrats will be stuck in the wilderness until they can come to the reality of why Donald Trump won in November.
