Mike Johnson just betrayed Trump supporters in the worst way possible

House Speaker Mike Johnson is quickly becoming the latest leader to abandon the conservative movement.

Johnson’s shown his true loyalties lie with the Washington, D.C. Swamp.

And Mike Johnson just betrayed Trump supporters in the worst way possible.

Johnson comes out in favor of a blank check for Joe Biden’s war in Ukraine

After weeks of dithering, Johnson (R-LA) finally formulated a scheme to pass Joe Biden’s foreign aid slush fund by breaking it up into four separate bills.

Johnson agreed to put bills funding wars in Ukraine and Gaza, transferring military aid to Taiwan, and repossessing Russian financial assets, as well as a bill banning TikTok, on the floor for a vote.

The package Johnson put together includes $48 billion for Ukraine – the largest taxpayer giveaway of the entire war.

Conservatives were – to put it mildly – furious.

“The American people have made it as clear as they possibly could . . . that we better secure our border before we spend more money in Ukraine. They are getting ready to fly off the cliff,” Congressman Dan Bishop (R-NC) told reporters.

Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) introduced a motion to vacate the chair against Johnson prior to the April recess.

Greene could pull the trigger on a vote to oust Johnson at any moment, and Greene hinted that Johnson selling out America for Ukraine could be a red line.

The Georgia conservative told reporters she’s “firmly against the plan as it stands right now,” adding that it represents “another wrong direction for Speaker Johnson.”

As for removing Johnson, Greene said there was no chance Johnson would be the Speaker in the next Congress, but that she wanted to keep her plans on the motion to vacate close to the vest.

“He’s definitely not going to be speaker next Congress,” Greene declared, saying when she would call for a vote on a motion to vacate the chair was “to be determined.”

Polls show Republicans oppose Ukraine funding

A CBS/YouGuv poll showed Johnson is spitting in the face of his voters due to the fact that 61 percent of Republicans – regardless of which ideological faction they hail from – oppose any more money for Joe Biden’s failed war in Ukraine.

“A CBS News/YouGov survey released Sunday found that 61% of Republicans say the US should not send more weapons and other military assistance to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for his nation’s war against Russia,” the New York Post reported.

“That holds true even when pollsters differentiate between self-identified ‘MAGA’ Republicans and those who do not associate with the direction in which Trump, 77, has dragged the party,” the Post also reported.

Johnson made it clear he doesn’t care what Republican voters want because his responsibility is to “govern” – meaning he will do whatever Democrats, the media, and Washington, D.C. Swamp powerbrokers want.

“I don’t spend my time worrying about motions to vacate,” Johnson ranted. “We’re having to govern here and we’re going to do our job. I’m not sure how that shakes out.”
