Michelle Obama made this huge announcement about running for President

Mar 7, 2024

Former First Lady Michelle Obama is the Democrat Party’s dream candidate for President of the United States.

With polls showing Donald Trump leading Joe Biden, many Democrats hoped Michelle Obama would ride to the rescue as an 11th-hour replacement.

And now Michelle Obama made this huge announcement about running for President.

Michelle Obama won’t run for President

A spate of polls from the New York Times, CBS, Fox News, and the Wall Street Journal all found Trump leading Biden.

Pundits and insiders in both the Democrat and Republican parties believe that Democrats will execute a switcheroo at the convention and substitute a new candidate in for Biden.

The focus of the speculation on who would replace Biden centered on Michelle Obama, as she is the only Democrat whom all factions of the party would accept whose candidacy wouldn’t lead to a bloody civil war at the convention.

But Michelle Obama won’t be walking through that door, as her office released a statement saying the former First Lady won’t run for President but will do whatever she can to help Biden win.

“As former First Lady Michelle Obama has expressed several times over the years, she will not be running for president,” Obama’s director of communications Crystal Carson said in a statement to NBC News. “Mrs. Obama supports President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ re-election campaign.”

Mrs. Obama has never liked politics and told Oprah in a Netflix special that she wasn’t made for the game.

“Politics is hard,” Obama stated. “And the people who get into it … you’ve got to want it. It’s got to be in your soul, because it is so important. It is not in my soul.”

Joe Biden welcomes Michelle Obama’s help

The Biden campaign thanks Michelle Obama for her support.

“President and Michelle Obama were enormously helpful in the fight to beat Donald Trump and elect President Biden and Vice President Harris the first time and we are grateful to have their voice and their support in the fight for the fate of our democracy this November,” Biden campaign spokesperson Kevin Munoz’s statement read.

Joe Biden’s facing defections and enthusiasm problems among black voters.

The New York Times/Siena poll showed Trump winning 23 percent of the black vote.

Other polls show low engagement and desire to turnout for Biden.

Biden’s high command thinks Michelle Obama can help solve those problems and plans to deploy her in a limited and targeted way in the fall.

“The expectation of many close to Biden is that, given the former first lady’s star power, the Biden campaign will seek to maximize her limited role later in the campaign, when more swing voters will be paying attention to the race. A senior Biden adviser said there have been early conversations with Obama’s team about campaign engagements and noted that an obvious area of “alignment” with her is her nonpartisan voter registration group, When We All Vote, which aims to promote turnout and close the registration gap among young voters and people of color,” NBC News reported.

Joe Biden is the underdog right now.

Democrats would need to pull out all the  stops to win.

And that will likely include Michelle Obama out on the campaign trail.
