Few believe Democrats were going to stand pat in the face of polls showing Joe Biden losing to Donald Trump.
It was widely assumed that former First Lady Michelle Obama would be the last-minute savior Democrats would turn to bail out the party and replace Joe Biden as the nominee.
But Michelle Obama just found out Democrats abandoned her for one surprising candidate.
The co-hosts of Fox and Friends Weekend ran down the list of possibilities who Democrats could nominate in case Joe Biden faced up to reality and his age and low poll numbers and bowed out of the 2024 race.
Rachel Campos-Duffy began to say that Michelle Obama was the obvious choice before co-host Will Cain cut her off and said Nikki Haley was the real answer.
“I say they’re going to replace Joe Biden. It’s not going to be with Dean Phillips. It’s not going to be with Gavin Newsom, ’cause they can’t skip over Kamala [Harris] because of that. If you noticed this week, and last week as well, more talk about Michelle Obama. I still think that’s in the cards. The wheels are coming off of Joe Biden — ” Campos-Duffy began.
“Or Nikki Haley,” Cain interjected.
Joe Biden is still in the race.
And if Biden is running for re-election, Democrats need a candidate running as a third-party candidate that independents can cast a vote for, as in a binary choice between Trump and Biden, the polls show swing voters breaking for Trump.
“Oh, right, as an independent,” Campos-Duffy responded.
Haley is already basically running as a Democrat, as her campaign’s entire hopes rest on turning out enough Democrats and left-leaning independents to pull off an upset win in New Hampshire.
“There are already Democrats crossing over,” Cain stated.
The third-party group “No Labels” is also looking for a RINO to lead their so-called “unity ticket.” Co-host Pete Hegseth thinks Haley – who supports the war in Ukraine and opposes banning transgender surgeries for minor children – fits the bill.
“Well, they already have, and there’s conversation about the No Labels candidacy— ” Hegseth began to say.
“Right, and that’s where she would jump to,” Campos-Duffy shot back.
No Labels co-chair former Democrat Vice Presidential candidate Joe Lieberman said his group would seriously consider reaching out to Haley to run as their candidate once she drops out of the GOP Presidential race.
“If Gov. Haley does not succeed in obtaining the Republican nomination for president and she declares any interest in being part of our bipartisan unity ticket, I’m sure the people at No Labels would give that the most serious consideration, but obviously she’s not done that because she’s an active Republican candidate for president,” Lieberman stated.
Nikki Haley is a loyal member of the GOP establishment and D.C. Swamp.
Both groups are absolutely committed to keeping Donald Trump out of the White House.
And if the establishment needs Haley to run as the No Labels candidate to siphon votes from Trump, then she will obey that command.
