The Democrat Party just handed Republicans another gift.
Their response to Trump’s latest social media strategy backfired so spectacularly that even political insiders are shaking their heads.
And Megyn Kelly couldn’t stop laughing when her guest exposed this embarrassing truth about the cat lady party.
Trump’s meme mastery leaves Democrats scrambling
Look, Trump knows exactly what he’s doing when he posts those AI videos.
The latest batch showing Hakeem Jeffries in a sombrero got Democrats so worked up they completely missed the point – again.
While Trump controls the narrative with content that actually reaches people, Democrats are still playing by 2008 rules.
RealClearPolitics founder Tom Bevan spelled it out perfectly during his Thursday appearance on "The Megyn Kelly Show."
"Democrats don’t know how to meme. They can’t meme," Bevan told Kelly. "And Republicans, and Trump in particular, and the MAGA folks have mastered the art."
Here’s what makes this brilliant – every time Democrats throw a tantrum about Trump’s posts, he just makes more of them.
Jeffries demanded Trump "say it to my face," so naturally Trump’s team put a sombrero on that response too.
The cycle keeps going because Democrats haven’t figured out the first rule of internet culture: getting outraged about a meme only makes it go viral.
Cat lady party tries fighting memes with cats and disaster livestreams
The Democrat response to Trump’s communication dominance tells you everything about why they’re losing touch with regular Americans.
First, they organized what Bevan called a "telethon" – a livestream that was supposed to run 24 hours to highlight the government shutdown.
The result? Complete embarrassment.
Political observers tracked viewership dropping to just 36 people at 5 AM, with the stream going offline for three hours during their supposed round-the-clock coverage.
"They really seem to be just sort of flailing about," Bevan observed about the Democrat Party’s desperate attempts to match Trump’s reach.
But wait – it gets even more pathetic.
Democrats actually posted a video on Instagram showing kittens representing the shutdown, with cats standing in for Republicans and Democrats.
Yes, you read that right – while Trump creates content that drives real political conversations, Democrats are making kitten videos.
California Governor Gavin Newsom tried copying Trump’s approach by turning House Speaker Mike Johnson into a cartoon minion, but the engagement numbers tell the whole story about who actually connects with audiences.
The deeper problem Democrats won’t acknowledge
"It’s become a running gag now that everybody is in on, it seems like, except for the Democrats who are busy yelling that this is racist," Bevan explained to Kelly.
This isn’t really about memes – it’s about understanding what motivates voters in 2025.
Trump speaks directly to Americans using the platforms and language they actually use every day.
Democrats respond with the same tired playbook: call everything racist, demand investigations, and expect their media allies to amplify the outrage.
That strategy worked when they controlled more of the information landscape, but those days are over.
"The question is, ‘OK, well how much is this going to hurt them politically?’" Bevan asked Kelly. "Or are we just living in two completely different information bubbles?"
The answer is clear when you look at the engagement numbers.
Trump’s posts reach millions while Democrats struggle to get hundreds of people to watch their carefully planned content.
Why this matters for conservatives
Bevan hit on something important about the current political moment.
"It’s clear to everyone that they are the obstacle to opening the government," he noted. "So they will pay a political price, but it’s just a question of how much."
Democrats keep making the same mistake – they think politics is still about controlling traditional media narratives.
Meanwhile, Trump and successful conservatives have moved on to where Americans actually spend their time: social media, podcasts, and direct communication.
The Democrat Party’s communication problem reveals a much deeper leadership crisis.
When your political opponents can consistently make you look foolish with simple internet humor, you’ve lost control of the conversation.
And probably the next election too.
Republicans understand that connecting with voters in 2025 means meeting them where they are, not where political consultants think they should be.
Democrats are still trying to fight tomorrow’s battles with yesterday’s weapons while Trump shapes the political landscape one viral post at a time.
