Meghan Markle is obsessed with maintaining a good public image.
She found herself in another low point of her career.
And Meghan Markle was utterly humiliated after this bad secret was exposed.
Meghan Markle accused of copying Pamela Anderson’s show
Meghan Markle’s career is riding on the success of her new Netflix reality show With Love, Meghan.
Her contract expires with Netflix at the end of the year, and she needs a hit to get it extended.
The show features Meghan and her celebrity pals cooking and gardening in a palatial California home.
But she was hit with accusations that she stole the idea for her show from former Baywatch star Pamela Anderson.
“Every single day another allegation regarding the conduct of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, seems to emerge, the latest being her new show is similar in style to the Pamela Anderson program,” royal expert Ian Pelham Turner told Fox News.
Anderson already launched her show Pamela’s Cooking with Love where she and celebrity chefs cook at her home.
People began to notice the similarity between the two shows.
Royal expert Neil Sean accused Meghan of a “frame-for-frame” remake of Anderson’s show in some segments.
“As you can see, Meghan has been inspired by her [Anderson’s] cookery show, right?” Sean explained.
Sean showed a frame where Meghan was high-fiving her guest while Anderson was also doing the same thing.
He noted, “There’s very little new in the world of cookery.”
“It’s difficult to reinvent it, but Meghan didn’t even bother with that,” Sean stated. “Clearly, she just got inspired.”
Meghan deals with another controversy
A source told Sean that Anderson isn’t upset at Meghan’s attempt to copy her show.
“[Anderson] actually delighted with Meghan Markle. Well, maybe that’s stretching it a bit but, you know, kind of happy for this simple reason. You see, this has elevated Pamela’s show. You know, the sort of publicity she could have only dreamt about,” Sean explained.
Meghan’s controversy has given Anderson’s show some free publicity.
“Not only that, this is going to be very successful for Pamela Anderson in effect, Meghan being inspired by Pamela’s show,” Sean said. “It’s literally been an injection back into Pamela’s brand.”
Sean argued that copying Anderson would backfire on Meghan because no one wants to see the same cooking show twice.
“So, if Meghan thought that nobody would spot this, well, now clearly nobody’s going to want to watch Meghan simply because they’ve kind of seen it first with Pamela,” Sean said.
Meghan’s eight-episode series has already gotten harsh reviews from the critics.
The Guardian TV writer Stuart Heritage called With Love, Meghan “pointless” and hoped it would be the last time anyone would see her on TV.
He said that the show “probably won’t turn things around, unless the broader public suddenly develops a hankering for long-form television programmes about a woman filling children’s party bags with seeds and manuka honey.”
Heritage added that the show was “joyless” and Meghan came across as “thirsty.”
Meghan Markle needs to hope that the public has more love for her show or her Netflix career could be on thin ice.
