The media is ramping up its attacks on Donald Trump.
Journalists’ dishonesty has reached another level.
And Kristi Noem shut down one dangerous lie the media told about Donald Trump.
Tariffs are about stopping the flow of fentanyl into the country
Democrat and their media allies seized on the tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump on Canada and Mexico as a sign the economy is doomed.
Trump announced that he would slap a 25% tariff on goods from the two countries unless they did more to stop the flow of fentanyl and illegal aliens across the northern and southern borders.
He granted goods covered under the USMCA trade agreement an exemption from the tariffs until April.
Journalists have been perplexed about Trump’s standoff with Canada, and falsely claimed that there’s no fentanyl threat from the country.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem argued that Trump’s tariffs are about protecting the country from fentanyl during an appearance on CBS News’ Face the Nation.
“I think a lot of people don’t understand the strategy of these enemies of the United States and what they’re utilizing. They are bringing this in, not just to make money, they’re bringing it in here to kill Americans,” Noem explained. “And it’s time that we stand up for the people that live here and make sure that we’re stopping this war against our children.”
Noem said that the Trump administration is fighting for fair trade deals while trying to stop fentanyl from Canada and Mexico from pouring into the country.
“This is about fentanyl and what we can do to stop the cartels from partnering with Chinese officials, laundering money, and bringing a poison into our country that is specifically designed to kill the next generation,” Noem stated.
Tariffs are forcing Canada and Mexico to take action
Noem said that she’s spoken to Canada and Mexico about what they can do to avoid Trump slapping their exports with tariffs in April.
“If they do it, we shall see,” Noem said. “We all recognize that each one of these leaders has political environments in their home countries as well, but President Trump means business, and he meant it when he ran to be President of the United States again, and since he’s taken office, that he will put America first.”
The open border under former President Joe Biden allowed the Mexican drug cartels to flood the country with fentanyl.
Fentanyl is the leading cause of death for Americans aged 18-49.
Noem vowed that Trump was working to stop the carnage that Biden’s open border inflicted on the country.
Trump’s hardball tactics with Canada were already paying dividends, according to Noem.
“Canada, just recently, is starting to allow us to access some of their criminal background histories that we need in order to know who’s coming across our border and what they’re bringing. So, because of his strong stance on tariffs, we’re seeing them wanting to be better partners with us to keep our people safe,” Noem explained. “Their naming of a fentanyl czar in Canada is important.”
Donald Trump is fighting to make sure Canada and Mexico uphold their end of the bargain on border security.
