Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem isn’t mincing words about the chaos erupting in America’s cities.
Democrats are furious that she’s calling out their failed leadership.
And Kristi Noem delivered one brutal truth that left Democrats scrambling for cover.
Los Angeles burns while Democrat leaders fiddle
Los Angeles is facing violent protests over Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations, and the city’s Democrat leadership is nowhere to be found.
President Trump called for the National Guard to restore order as rioters threw rocks and Molotov cocktails at law enforcement officers.
The scenes are eerily reminiscent of the 2020 riots that destroyed Minneapolis and other Democrat-run cities across America.
But this time, the Trump administration isn’t going to stand by and watch America burn.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem appeared on CBS’s "Face the Nation" and delivered a message that has Democrats panicking.
"We are not going to let a repeat of 2020 happen," Noem declared.
The former South Dakota Governor knows exactly what she’s talking about.
She watched Minnesota Governor Tim Walz – Kamala Harris’s failed vice presidential pick – allow Minneapolis to burn for days before finally deploying the National Guard.
Buildings were torched, businesses were looted, and innocent Americans lived in fear while Democrat politicians prioritized politics over public safety.
Democrat mayors refuse to back up law enforcement
Noem exposed the dirty secret that Democrat leaders don’t want Americans to know.
Local Democrat officials are actively undermining federal law enforcement operations by refusing to provide backup when officers are in danger.
"When we ask for backup in a situation, LAPD has waited hours to respond, and they’ve waited until we have an officer in a dangerous situation, until they come in and help us bring peace," Noem revealed during her CBS interview.
The Los Angeles Police Department is taking orders from their Democrat bosses to let federal agents fend for themselves against violent mobs.
Only when the situation becomes life-threatening do they finally step in to help.
"Unfortunately, waiting several hours for LAPD to show up or telling them- them telling us that they’re not going to back us up until they have an officer in a dangerous situation is something that just isn’t workable when you have violent protests going on," Noem explained.
This isn’t incompetence.
It’s a deliberate strategy by Democrat leaders to hamstring federal immigration enforcement by denying local support.
They’re willing to put law enforcement officers’ lives at risk to score political points with their radical base.
Noem drops the hammer on lawless Democrats
The Homeland Security Secretary didn’t hold back when she delivered the truth that Democrats desperately don’t want to hear.
"If you don’t like the laws, go to Congress and change them," Noem stated. "Someone should go to Congress and say, change the laws. If we don’t like what’s happening in this country, do that instead of throwing rocks and throwing Molotov cocktails and instead of attacking law enforcement officers."
It’s a simple concept that Democrats refuse to understand.
America is a nation of laws, not mob rule.
If you disagree with federal immigration policy, you work through the democratic process to change it.
You don’t throw firebombs at police officers.
You don’t attack federal agents who are doing their jobs.
You don’t burn down your own neighborhoods.
But Democrats have normalized political violence as an acceptable form of protest when they don’t get their way.
They cheered when cities burned in 2020.
They bailed out rioters who destroyed small businesses.
They called violent mobs "mostly peaceful protesters."
The Trump administration won’t tolerate lawlessness
President Trump has made it clear that the days of Democrat-enabled chaos are over.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth put active-duty Marines at Camp Pendleton on high alert to assist if needed.
The National Guard has been deployed to restore order in Los Angeles.
And Kristi Noem is coordinating with local leaders who actually want to protect their communities.
"Now, if that was my city and I was the mayor, I would be sending law enforcement in there to back up other law enforcement officers," Noem said. "That’s what America’s about is – is that we have rules and we have laws."
The contrast couldn’t be clearer.
Republican leaders believe in law and order.
Democrat leaders enable lawlessness and chaos.
Americans are watching these scenes play out in real time and drawing their own conclusions about which party actually cares about public safety.
Democrats’ sanctuary city policies come home to roost
The violence in Los Angeles is the inevitable result of decades of Democrat policies that prioritize illegal aliens over American citizens.
California’s sanctuary state laws prevent local law enforcement from cooperating with federal immigration authorities.
Democrat politicians have spent years telling their voters that enforcing immigration law is somehow racist or cruel.
Now they’re reaping what they’ve sown as their radicalized base takes to the streets to physically resist federal law enforcement.
"This President cares deeply about family members that want to live in their communities and be safe," Noem concluded.
It’s a basic responsibility of government that Democrat leaders have abdicated.
President Trump campaigned on restoring law and order to America’s cities.
He’s keeping that promise despite fierce resistance from Democrat officials who prefer chaos to accountability.
The American people elected Trump to end the lawlessness that defined the Biden years.
Kristi Noem and the rest of his team are delivering on that mandate.
