Karine Jean-Pierre told America over and over that Joe Biden would never pardon Hunter.
That same woman just went on CNN to lecture Trump's brand new press secretary on how the job is done.
There is one problem with her lecture, and it would not survive the week either.
Jean-Pierre Bragged About Four Hours of Daily Prep On CNN
Katie Zacharia stepped to the podium for her first briefing as White House press secretary on October 13, 2026.
She went about 14 minutes and took questions from three outlets, starting with Breitbart News.
Then she wrapped as President Trump headed to Marine One for Alaska.
The legacy press corps reacted like the building was on fire.
She would not survive the week.
CNN rolled out Jean-Pierre on Anderson Cooper 360 with John Berman sitting in as host.
Jean-Pierre told viewers her team blocked out four hours a day just to get her ready for the podium.
"You cannot just go in there and not prepare," she said.
Even David Axelrod, the Obama strategist sharing the segment, said Zacharia deserved some grace and blamed Trump for sending her out too soon.
She also bragged that her briefings ran 40 to 60 minutes and fielded dozens of questions.
So what did all that preparation actually buy the American people?

The 2023 Transcripts Show Jean-Pierre Dodged 98 Percent of Biden Scandal Questions
The Media Research Center went through every official White House briefing transcript from 2023 and tallied every question reporters threw at Jean-Pierre about three Biden scandals.
The rules were generous to her.
Repeat follow-ups were not counted twice, so she was never penalized for dodging the same question over and over.
Across 75 briefings, reporters asked her 337 questions about Biden's classified documents, his family's business dealings, and the cocaine found in the West Wing.
She gave a real answer to eight of them.
That is 2.37 percent.
It did not improve as the year went on.
She answered six of 252 in the first half of 2023 and just two of 85 in the second half.
On the classified documents, reporters asked 220 questions and got five answers.
On Biden family corruption, they asked 87 and got three – every one of them a flat denial.
On the cocaine discovered inside the White House, reporters asked 30 questions over five briefings in July 2023.
They got zero concrete answers.
The Secret Service closed its investigation without ever naming a suspect.
When Peter Doocy pressed her on the documents in January 2023, Jean-Pierre pointed him to the White House Counsel's office.
That line became her signature move.
Jesse Watters said on The Five that she "talks like a binder" – the same canned lines no matter what she was asked.
Biden pardoned Hunter in December 2024, after every one of those denials from the podium.
Jean-Pierre Admitted Her Biden Age Answers Made Things Worse
Jean-Pierre has since walked away from the Democrat Party she defended at that podium and written a book about it.
In an October 2026 guest essay for The New York Times, she went further.
She admitted the Biden team got the age issue wrong, betting Americans would just stop asking.
Her podium answers did nothing to stop the bleeding, she wrote – "at worst, they fueled it."
Americans watched her deny what everyone could see with their eyes, briefing after briefing.
In the same essay, she claimed Trump is repeating Biden's messaging mistakes.
White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers fired back that Biden's policies caused the inflation crisis and Trump fixed it.
That is the podium Jean-Pierre now wants Zacharia to treat like a four-hour final exam.
Zacharia, a Pepperdine-trained attorney and mother of four, took over after Karoline Leavitt stepped down to be with her young children.
Asked about the debut, Trump said he thought she was very good.
Zacharia Was Gone Before the CNN Segment Stopped Airing
Jean-Pierre's lecture did not age well.
Two U.S. officials told CBS News that Zacharia was being removed just one week after she took the podium.
A senior White House official called it a "transitioning out."
Trump himself told her on the South Lawn she should "reconsider" the job – "You don't have to do this if you don't want to," he said.
He insisted he had not fired her and said he wants her to "have a good life."
An aide told reporters she spent her brief tenure unusually isolated and was never really brought into real decision-making, because few people around her expected the job to last.
Seven days – shorter than Anthony Scaramucci's famous 11-day flameout as communications director in Trump's first term.
Four Hours a Day Bought America Eight Answers
Do the math on the boast Jean-Pierre made on CNN.
Four hours of prep across the 75 briefings the study tracked comes out to roughly 300 hours behind closed doors in 2023 alone.
Three hundred hours produced eight straight answers about the scandals Americans actually cared about.
That is not preparation for answering questions.
That is preparation for dodging them.
Every one of those hours went into building a wall between Biden's White House and the people paying for it.
Zacharia's critics timed her first briefing with a stopwatch, and the West Wing cut her loose before the week was out.
Nobody at CNN ever timed how long Jean-Pierre could go without answering a question.
CNN can book her for every segment it wants.
The transcripts are not going anywhere.
