Kilmar Garcia hearing broke out in chaos when Marjorie Taylor Greene presented this evidence

May 16, 2025

A congressional hearing took an unexpected turn yesterday when one Democrat couldn’t contain his fury over evidence presented about a controversial deportation case.

Dan Goldman took the hearing completely off the rails when confronted with one piece of evidence that the “Maryland man” actually belongs to the notorious MS-13 gang.

And the Kilmar Garcia hearing broke out in chaos when Marjorie Taylor Greene presented this evidence.

The evidence they don’t want you to see

A Democrat completely lost his cool during a heated congressional hearing yesterday when Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) introduced evidence that Kilmar Garcia, often referenced as simply a “Maryland man” by the media, is actually a member of the brutal MS-13 gang.

Rep. Dan Goldman (D-N.Y.) erupted in the middle of the Homeland Security Committee hearing focused on the Salvadoran migrant who was deported to El Salvador’s infamous terrorist prison by the Trump administration.

Goldman’s outburst turned the proceeding into a chaotic shouting match when Greene began reading from a tweet by U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi that outlined evidence supporting Garcia’s gang affiliation.

“A Maryland county police gang unit agreed that he’s MS-13. A reliable confidential informant agreed that he’s MS-13. ICE officers agreed that he’s MS-13. An immigration judge agreed that he’s MS-13. An appellate board agreed that Kilmar Abrego Garcia, your ‘Maryland man,’ is MS-13,” Greene read from Bondi’s statement.

That’s when Goldman exploded.

“I object because she is misstating the record and the facts. That is not accurate, and therefore I object to that being introduced,” Goldman shouted. “There is no final court order establishing that he’s a member. Maybe he is! So you should put all that evidence before a judge, and if he is MS-13, he should be deported.”

Committee Chair Rep. Mark Green (R-Tenn.) tried to regain control, explaining that Greene had the right to introduce whatever evidence she deemed relevant, but Goldman refused to back down.

“She can submit something to this committee,” Green stated firmly.

Goldman wasn’t having it. “But it matters — she just said she represented exactly what the attorney general said. She has a document there. I would like to see that document,” he demanded.

The chair agreed to provide Goldman with a copy of the document during a recess, but when they proceeded to vote on whether to accept the document as evidence, Goldman interrupted again.

A heated exchange turns explosive

“Do not interrupt me again!” Green finally yelled at Goldman.

The tweet in question wasn’t some obscure document – it was publicly posted by Attorney General Bondi on April 16 and remains available on her social media account.

While Democrats have made Garcia their poster child in claims against the Trump administration’s immigration policies, mounting evidence suggests their “Maryland man” narrative might be missing some crucial details.

The case has been complicated by the administration’s own admissions in court that Garcia’s deportation resulted from a “clerical error,” giving ammunition to those demanding his return to the United States.

Last month, the Supreme Court unanimously ruled that the administration must “facilitate” Garcia’s release from El Salvador, though President Trump has argued this demand exceeds his authority.

At one point in the ongoing saga, Trump personally displayed a photograph showing tattoos on Garcia’s knuckles that the administration interprets as MS-13 gang symbols – a claim Democrats have repeatedly challenged.

The contentious hearing highlights the increasingly partisan battle over immigration enforcement, with Republicans focusing on public safety concerns and Democrats emphasizing due process rights.

For Republicans like Greene, Garcia represents exactly the kind of individual their immigration policies aim to remove from American communities. For Democrats, the case exemplifies what they view as constitutional overreach and lack of proper legal procedures.

As the debate rages on, Garcia remains in El Salvador’s infamous Zacatraz prison while the administration weighs its next steps in response to the Supreme Court’s order.

The hearing’s dramatic confrontation between Goldman and Greene only underscores how deeply divided Washington remains on immigration issues – with neither side showing any signs of finding common ground as the 2026 midterm elections approach.
