Kelly Loeffler dropped the hammer on Tim Walz with one decision that left Democrats panicking

Tim Walz thought he could hide Minnesota's fraud scandal until it blew over.

Then the Trump administration stepped in to hold him accountable.

And Kelly Loeffler dropped the hammer on Tim Walz with one decision that left Democrats panicking.

YouTuber Nick Shirley exposed what Minnesota officials tried to hide

YouTuber Nick Shirley did what the entire mainstream media refused to do.

He showed up with a camera at daycare centers across Minnesota that were supposedly caring for children while raking in millions of taxpayer dollars.

What he found would make your blood boil.

Empty buildings with misspelled signs.

The "Quality Learing Center" in South Minneapolis couldn't even spell "learning" correctly but received $4 million in state funds.¹

No children anywhere to be found during business hours.

Shirley's 42-minute video documented empty building after empty building, each one collecting massive government payments for services they never provided.²

When confronted, operators either refused to answer questions or called the police claiming Shirley was an ICE agent.

The video exploded to over 100 million views in just days.³

Vice President JD Vance praised Shirley's work as "far more useful journalism than any of the winners of the 2024 Pulitzer prizes."⁴

FBI Director Kash Patel immediately announced he was surging "personnel and investigative resources to Minnesota" to investigate the fraud Shirley exposed.⁵

Rep. Tom Emmer (R-MN) demanded answers from Governor Walz about how these fraudulent operations received millions while providing zero services.⁶

But what Shirley uncovered was just the tip of an iceberg that goes much deeper and much darker than anyone imagined.

Small Business Administration uncovers half a billion in fraud within days

Small Business Administration Administrator Kelly Loeffler was "disgusted and sickened" by what Shirley's reporting revealed.

She immediately ordered her agency to investigate Minnesota's fraud problem.

What they found shocked even seasoned federal investigators.

Within days of investigating Minnesota, the SBA uncovered half a billion dollars in fraud.⁷

At least $2.5 million in pandemic-relief loans had been "granted to individuals indicted as part of the Somali fraud scheme," according to Loeffler's findings.⁸

Another $430 million in pandemic loans spread across 13,600 individual loans were "suspected as fraudulent" but funded anyway.⁹

Some of those fraudulent loans were among those the Biden administration forgave entirely.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph Thompson revealed the scope is even worse than initial estimates.

He stated that at least $9 billion in federal funds supporting Minnesota programs since 2018 may have been stolen.¹⁰

Federal prosecutors said that 89% of defendants charged in Minnesota's massive fraud cases are of Somali origin.¹¹

And it gets worse.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced his department is investigating allegations that stolen Minnesota taxpayer funds were sent to Somalia and ended up "in the hands of the terror group Al-Shabaab."¹²

Federal counterterrorism sources confirmed to the City Journal that "millions of dollars in stolen funds have been sent back to Somalia" where they "ultimately landed in the hands of the terror group Al-Shabaab."¹³

One confidential source put it bluntly: "The largest funder of Al-Shabaab is the Minnesota taxpayer."¹⁴

Kelly Loeffler cuts off Minnesota's federal funding

Loeffler had seen enough.

On December 23, she sent a scathing letter to Governor Tim Walz announcing the SBA was "halting the disbursement of federal funds to SBA resource partners operating in the state of Minnesota, totaling over $5.5 million in annual support."¹⁵

"This action is the result of a fundamental breakdown in the public trust," Loeffler wrote. "Under your leadership, Minnesota failed to safeguard taxpayer dollars, and SBA will not continue to place federal resources at risk in a state where oversight measures are ignored and accountability is abandoned."¹⁶

Conservative activist Benny Johnson reported that Loeffler's response came directly after Shirley exposed "over $100M in Minnesota Somali fraud, funneled through fake daycares and healthcare fronts."¹⁷

Johnson shared that Loeffler told him she was taking this drastic action because of Walz's refusal "to enforce laws governing small businesses" and his "allowance and facilitation of fraud."¹⁸

The scope of the fraud is staggering.

"The scope of this international scam is still unknown, likely in the billions," Loeffler stated. "Pending further review, SBA is freezing all grant funding to the state in order to stop the rampant waste of taxpayer dollars and uncover the full depth of fraud."¹⁹

Loeffler didn't mince words about who was responsible.

"What happened in Minnesota is the consequence of socialist policies deliberately designed to pump out welfare funding without oversight or accountability," she wrote in her letter to Walz. "SBA will not further that agenda by continuing to send funds to a state that has demonstrated a reckless refusal to enforce the law."²⁰

The freeze immediately halted $2.22 million for Small Business Development Centers, $450,000 for women's business centers, $2.6 million in microloan awards, and approximately $550,000 in other disbursements.²¹

But Loeffler wasn't done.

She made clear the Trump administration would focus on "the state officials" who built an "industrial-scale crime ring to rip off hardworking Americans."²²

More than 480 current employees of the Minnesota Department of Human Services backed up Loeffler's assessment.

They created an account on social media declaring that Walz is "100% responsible for massive fraud in Minnesota."²³

The whistleblowers explained they informed Walz "early on" about the fraud.

But instead of acting, Walz "systematically retaliated against whistleblowers using monitoring, threats, repression, and did his best to discredit fraud reports."²⁴

This is the same Tim Walz who ran as Kamala Harris's running mate while claiming to be a champion of government accountability.

Walz's defense has been pathetic.

He admitted Minnesota "attracts criminals" but demanded that critics stop "demonizing" the Somali community.²⁵

That's retreat mode from a governor who spent years ignoring warnings about massive fraud happening right under his nose.

Meanwhile, President Trump announced he's revoking Temporary Protected Status for Somalis in Minnesota and ordered ICE to crack down on the fraud networks.²⁶

Kelly Loeffler just showed exactly how the Trump administration handles corruption.

Cut off the money flow, hold officials accountable, and prosecute the fraudsters no matter how loudly Democrats scream about racism.

Minnesota taxpayers deserve better than a governor who let billions get stolen and funneled to terrorists.

And now they're finally getting accountability whether Tim Walz likes it or not.
