CNN is a Democrat communications outlet masquerading as news.
The network did something awful in its war against Donald Trump.
And Karoline Leavitt lowered the boom on CNN for crossing this bad line.
CNN takes crusade against Trump to the next level with drug cartel interview
The anti-Trump bias is CNN is increasing as the failing network comes up with more outlandish ways to attack the President.
CNN International decided to treat the Mexican drug cartels as a human interest story.
Reporter Isobel Yeung traveled to the Mexican state of Sinaloa to interview a cartel member who hid his identity with a mask and sunglasses.
“What’s your message to Donald Trump if he’s watching this?” Yeung asked the Sinaloa cartel thug.
“My respect to him. According to him, he’s looking out for his people,” the thug replied. “But the problem is the consumers are in the United States. If there weren’t any consumers, we would stop.”
CNN was trying to get the thug to say something bashing Trump for the delight of their audience.
Yeung asked the cartel member what he made of being called a terrorist.
“Well, the situation is ugly but we have to eat,” the cartel member declared.
Yeung repeated that cartel talking point after the interview that Americans are responsible for the drug problem.
This puff piece was designed to make the cartels look sympathetic as CNN looked at “both sides” of the story.
Karoline Leavitt blasts CNN for its latest anti-Trump stunt
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt ripped CNN for giving a “softball” interview with a cartel member during an appearance on Fox News Channel’s Hannity.
Host Sean Hannity wondered why anyone would care what a member of a bloodthirsty cartel thinks and asked Leavitt for the administration’s reaction to it.
“Well, it was fascinating to me, Sean,” Leavitt replied. “I was actually scrolling on Instagram when I came across this interview and it stopped me in my tracks, not just because they sat down with a member of a Mexican cartel that is now designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the United States government, but because of the nature of the questions of this notorious foreign terrorist.”
Trump designated the Mexican drug cartels and other Latin American gangs as foreign terrorist organizations after they flooded the country with drugs, illegal aliens, and violence.
“It was a softball interview, giving a platform to a notorious drug cartel that has killed American citizens. I thought it was quite despicable. But, again, this is just another reason why the trust in the legacy media is at an all-time low amongst the American public,” Leavitt added.
CNN’s leadership claimed after the 2024 Election that the network was going to pivot back to hard news.
The least trusted name in cable news doubled down on hoaxes and smears against Trump in his second term.
CNN is resorting to interviewing cartel members for potential gotcha soundbites to use against the President after the usual attacks failed to have any impact.
The network’s ratings are in free fall after CNN became a public relations arm of the Democrat Party.
