Even on her best day, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre’s briefings are a picture of fumbling and ineptitude.
This was not one of her best days.
And Karine Jean-Pierre refused to answer one simple question about the border crisis.
Congressional Republicans rejected a sham deal blessed by RINO Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell that would codify Joe Biden’s open borders agenda into law.
The border betrayal would admit 1,825,000 illegal aliens every year into America, and it would be up to Joe Biden to implement any border security measures.
Conservatives recognized this border betrayal for what it was.
Joe Biden’s handlers know the crisis at the southern border – which Biden caused by rescinding Donald Trump’s immigration executive orders – is killing him politically.
That’s why Biden floated new talking points he expects his allies in the media to amplify about how the Republicans are really the ones to blame for Joe Biden opening the border.
Republicans pointed out they couldn’t trust Biden to enforce the border security components so any deal was worthless.
The Press Room romance no one will talk about
Biden also falsely claimed he needed new powers from Congress to secure the border as he lacked executive authority to shut down the border.
Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy called out Karine Jean-Pierre for this malarkey, asking Jean-Pierre why Democrats didn’t address the border when they ran both Houses of Congress.
“You guys talk a lot about how the border wouldn’t be such a big deal if Congress would’ve just passed your immigration bill on Day 1. Who was in charge of Congress on Day 1?” Doocy asked.
Jean-Pierre responded with trademark gobbledygook.
“Republicans have gotten in the way. They just have, Peter,” Jean-Pierre replied.
That led to a natural follow up question from Doocy.
Setting it straight
“So the Democrats who were charge the first two years, no responsibility?” Doocy responded.

Joe Biden’s “day one” immigration bill was mass amnesty for tens of millions of illegal aliens with no border security.
This bill was the worst of all worlds.
At every turn, Joe Biden has indicated that his number one priority is letting as many illegal aliens into America as possible.
