Karine Jean-Pierre spent three years defending Joe Biden's every move.
Now she's playing the victim card after Democrats forced him out.
And Karine Jean-Pierre got destroyed on live TV by the last person anyone expected.
Jean-Pierre's book tour crashes and burns on live TV
Karine Jean-Pierre thought her new book would be a chance to cash in on three years as Biden's press secretary.
Instead, she walked straight into a buzz saw.
Jean-Pierre released "Independent: A Look Inside a Broken White House, Outside the Party Lines" where she announced she quit the Democrat Party and accused Democrats of betraying Joe Biden by forcing him out of the 2024 race.¹
The book tour started falling apart immediately when even liberal interviewers refused to buy her spin.
CBS hosts Tony Dokoupil and Gayle King hammered Jean-Pierre about how she could claim Biden was mentally sharp when 50 million Americans watched him collapse during the June 2024 debate.²
"Some Americans are going to say, 'seriously?'" Dokoupil told her on CBS Mornings.³
King pushed even harder after Jean-Pierre insisted she never witnessed Biden's decline despite being in his inner circle for more than two years.
"How?" King asked incredulously. "You even write, Karine, that you were on the plane with him going to the debate, and you didn't see anything."⁴
Jean-Pierre claimed it was a "rare" trip where she didn't interact with Biden even though they were traveling together on Air Force One.⁵
Nobody watching bought that excuse.
Stephen Colbert delivers the most brutal blow
The most devastating moment came when Jean-Pierre appeared on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert."
Colbert raised $25 million for Biden just three months before the debate.⁶
He saw Biden backstage at that fundraiser and thought the president seemed fine.
Then the debate happened and everything changed.
"It was a shock to our system to see that. Because — I mean, you're talking to a guy who helped raise $25 million for Joe Biden in March of that same year," Colbert told Jean-Pierre. "And three months later, I saw a guy who I had not seen backstage at the benefit that I did. It seemed like a dramatically different person."⁷
Jean-Pierre tried recycling her standard talking points about seeing Biden every day and how he was "always engaged" and "understood policy."⁸
Colbert wasn't having any of it.
"And in a moment of great pressure on stage, we saw someone shock us and worry us. And nothing could assuage that worry. So I don't think it was necessarily a betrayal of Joe Biden as other people saying, 'We don't think we were shown the Joe Biden that you saw,'" Colbert said.⁹
The exchange got so tense that Colbert finally threw up his hands in frustration.
"Disappointment is such a light term," Colbert said about the debate. "It was harrowing. OK, look, listen, we are never going to agree on this other than the fact that I'm glad that you came here tonight."¹⁰
When you've lost Stephen Colbert — one of Biden's most loyal media cheerleaders — you've lost everyone.
Liberal podcast host tears Jean-Pierre apart for lying
The beating continued when Jean-Pierre appeared on Tim Miller's "The Bulwark" podcast.
Miller is a Never-Trump Republican who spent years defending Biden against conservative attacks.
Even he couldn't stomach Jean-Pierre's obvious spin.
Miller pointed out what everyone already knew: Biden barely talked to the press and when he did, he sounded "old and feeble."¹¹
"He talked way less to the press than Donald Trump does. Way less," Miller said. "He wasn't out there at all. He wasn't good off the cuff. He wasn't doing press conferences. Let's just be real."¹²
Jean-Pierre tried interrupting, claiming Miller was "conflating" different things.¹³
Miller shut that down cold.
"He didn't do either. He didn't talk very often and when he did it wasn't very good. He sounded very old and feeble," Miller said.¹⁴
Jean-Pierre kept insisting Biden talked to Americans "a couple times a week" and suggested Miller "wasn't paying attention."¹⁵
That claim is objectively false and everyone knows it.
Biden gave fewer interviews and press conferences than any modern president because his handlers knew he couldn't handle unscripted questions.
Former Biden staffers eviscerate Jean-Pierre
The disaster doesn't stop with her disastrous media appearances getting exposed on live TV.
More than two dozen former Biden administration officials told Axios they believe Jean-Pierre was "incompetent" at her job and "more interested in promoting herself than Joe Biden."¹⁶
"She was one of the most ineffectual and unprepared people I've ever worked with," one former White House official said. "She had meltdowns after any interview that asked about a topic not sent over by producers."¹⁷
Another former Biden communications official called the book a "bizarre cash grab."¹⁸
"The hubris of thinking you can position yourself as an outsider when you not only have enjoyed the perks of extreme proximity to power — which bestows the name recognition needed to sell books off your name — but have actively wielded it from the biggest pulpit there is, is as breathtaking as it is desperate," the official added.¹⁹
The Washington Post's review absolutely destroyed the book.
Reviewer Becca Rothfield called it "outdated," "impractical" and filled with meaningless platitudes.²⁰
"It is incredible — and emblematic of the Democrats' total aesthetic and intellectual driftlessness — that someone who writes in such feel-good, thought-repelling clichés was hired to communicate with the nation from its highest podium," Rothfield wrote.²¹
Jean-Pierre was the face of one of the biggest political cover-ups in modern history.
She spent three years lying to America about Biden's cognitive decline that was obvious to anyone paying attention.
The June 2024 debate exposed the con to 50 million viewers who watched Biden freeze up, lose his train of thought, and prove he wasn't capable of serving another term.
Now Jean-Pierre wants sympathy because Democrats forced Biden out after she helped hide his deterioration from voters.
Even Biden's most loyal supporters aren't buying what she's selling.
