Jon Stewart had some tough medicine for Democrats following Donald Trump’s successful re-election campaign.
The Left isn’t going to like what Stewart had to say.
And Jon Stewart said four words about the 2024 election that devastated Democrats.
Democrats want a participation trophy
Democrats got wiped out on November 5.
Donald Trump winning the Presidency was just the start.
Republicans won a majority in the United States Senate.
The GOP also maintained the majority in the House of Representatives.
Democrats are completely shut out of power in Washington.
There was no trying to spin this defeat.
But Democrats tried.
And that provided grist for Stewart’s Daily Show monologue.
Stewart set up his bit by saying Democrats were ready to take ownership of how their incompetence paved the way for Trump’s victory before playing a montage of Democrats trying to spin the election as a victory.
“Certainly, now that the Democrats have lost to the Greatest Threat We’ve Ever Faced As A Nation, they will be forthright in acknowledging their role in this catastrophic defeat and the bleak hellscape we now face. Or…” Stewart began before the video played.
Stewart showed clips of Democrats like House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) and Dan Goldman (D-NY) claiming the party had a good night on November 5 because they “almost” won back the majority in the House.
When the video ended Stewart skewered Democrats for claiming what amounted to a political participation trophy.
“‘Almost’ is doing a lot of work in that sentence. We almost gained back all we lost. ‘Almost’ is kind of a load-bearing adverb, spinwise. Finding a positive in what is clearly not good news. Parents, good news, we gained back almost all of the children we lost on the field trip,” Stewart added.
Stewart then did a take on Barack Obama’s “the audacity of hope” line to say Democrats were engaged in “The Audacity of Cope.”
“It is a willful bright siding of this sh**show that we celebrate in our new segment we call, ‘The Audacity Of Cope,’ Stewart continued.
“Technically, Democrats have less seats. But have you heard who’s in these seats?” Stewart mockingly asked.
There was no good news for Democrats coming out of the election.
The result was such a disaster that Stewart was left making jokes at the Democrats expense.
Leftists tune in to Stewart because his comedy sets the narrative for the Democrat Party.
During the Bush administration, Stewart’s show became an actual source of news for leftists.
So, Stewart’s post-election broadcasts would set the stage for how the Left would process the results of November 5.
Stewart’s take that Democrats were a joke shows just how steep a hill Democrats have to climb as they try to rebuild in the wake of Donald Trump’s landslide victory.
If leftists were hoping they could tune in to see Stewart have some laughs at Donald Trump’s expense to soothe the wounds from his win, viewers were sadly mistaken.
