John Kennedy Exposed The One Thing About Trump’s Greenland Strategy That Has The Media In Full Panic Mode

Jan 11, 2026

The media went into full meltdown over Trump's Greenland comments.

Establishment Republicans rushed to condemn the President.

And John Kennedy exposed the one thing about Trump's Greenland strategy that has the media in full panic mode.

Kennedy calls out the NATO bootlickers missing Trump's actual strategy

U.S. Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) attended a classified briefing Wednesday where Trump administration officials laid out their actual plans for Greenland.

Kennedy emerged from the meeting and immediately torched the hysteria gripping Washington.

"Let me give you my perspective. Even a modestly intelligent ninth grader knows that to invade Greenland would be weapons-grade stupid," Kennedy told CNN's Kasie Hunt.

Then Kennedy made it clear who actually understands what's happening.

"Now, President Trump is not weapons-grade stupid, nor is Marco Rubio," Kennedy stated. "They do not plan to invade Greenland."

Kennedy said Secretary of State Marco Rubio addressed Greenland during the briefing and was unusually forthcoming about the administration's actual strategy.

The Louisiana Senator praised it as one of the best classified briefings he's ever attended.

Kennedy revealed the administration will pursue "a legal, formal partnership with Greenland as to their and our national defense."

That's exactly what Trump has been saying all along.

But the media and establishment Republicans like Roger Wicker, Susan Collins, and Thom Tillis completely lost their minds over Stephen Miller's cable news performance.

Miller was trolling Jake Tapper and everyone fell for it

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller appeared on CNN Monday and gave Jake Tapper exactly what Tapper wanted – inflammatory soundbites.

Miller told Tapper that "Greenland should be part of the United States" and said "nobody is going to fight the United States militarily over the future of Greenland."

Tapper kept pushing Miller to rule out military force.

Miller refused to take the bait and instead kept the conversation focused on why Greenland matters for Arctic security.

The media immediately exploded with headlines about Trump planning to invade a NATO ally.

Democrats shrieked about the end of the Western alliance.

European leaders issued stern warnings.

Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Roger Wicker (R-MS) said talk of seizing Greenland should be "dropped."

Senate Appropriations Committee Chair Susan Collins (R-ME) called it "very unfortunate."

Retiring Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) went completely overboard, suggesting Miller should "get out of this job" if he doesn't understand what he's talking about.

Kennedy understood what Miller was actually doing.

Miller was making it clear that the United States will protect its Arctic interests and isn't going to be bullied by hand-wringing from NATO bureaucrats.

The inflammatory rhetoric served a purpose – it got everyone's attention on an issue most Americans knew nothing about.

Now the whole country understands why Greenland matters.

Trump's strategy is working exactly as planned

Trump has used this playbook before and it works every single time.

The administration talks tough publicly while executing precise diplomatic and strategic moves behind the scenes.

The media predicts World War III.

Establishment Republicans clutch their pearls.

Democrats scream about illegal wars and constitutional crises.

Trump gets results.

The Venezuela operation played out exactly this way.

Miller and other officials talked about military options.

The media went into hysterics.

Trump executed a surgical special operations mission that captured dictator Nicolás Maduro without firing a shot in anger.

Now Greenland's getting the same treatment.

Miller makes bold statements on CNN that send the foreign policy establishment into convulsions.

Kennedy reveals the actual strategy involves negotiations and partnerships.

The difference is Kennedy understands Miller was sending a message to Russia and China, not announcing invasion plans to Denmark.

The real threat in the Arctic isn't coming from America

Russia and China are both expanding military operations in the Arctic region right now.

China declared itself a "near-Arctic state" in 2018 and announced plans to build a "Polar Silk Road" as part of its Belt and Road Initiative.

Russia has been restoring old Soviet infrastructure in the Arctic and opening new military bases since 2014.

The United States already has Pituffik Space Base in northwestern Greenland.

It's home to the world's northernmost deep-water port and critical early warning systems for Russian ballistic missiles.

But Russia and China aren't sitting still.

They're conducting joint naval patrols in the Arctic.

They're building icebreakers and military infrastructure.

They're positioning themselves to control Arctic shipping routes as ice melts and navigation becomes easier.

Greenland is also sitting on massive deposits of rare earth minerals that China currently dominates.

These minerals are vital for everything from smartphones to fighter jets to missile defense systems.

Trump knows whoever controls Arctic resources and shipping lanes will dominate the next 50 years.

Denmark can't defend Greenland against Russian or Chinese pressure.

Trump is making it clear the United States will.

Kennedy exposed who actually gets Trump's strategy

The entire media meltdown revealed something critical.

Establishment Republicans and Democrats don't understand how Trump operates.

They take every bold statement literally and immediately rush to condemn him.

Kennedy gets it.

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) gets it – he said he's open to purchasing Greenland but noted Trump's approach could use more diplomatic finesse.

Even Democrat Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) said he supports purchasing Greenland.

But the NATO bootlickers like Wicker, Collins, and Tillis?

They fell for the exact same trap the media did.

They heard Miller's tough talk and immediately assumed Trump was planning to invade Denmark.

Kennedy revealed the truth after the classified briefing.

Trump isn't planning some reckless invasion that would destroy NATO.

He's pursuing increased American presence and formal defense partnerships in a region where Russia and China are already moving aggressively.

Miller's job was to make noise and get everyone's attention focused on Arctic security.

Mission accomplished.

Now Trump can negotiate from a position of strength while Denmark and Greenland understand the United States is serious about protecting its interests in the Arctic.

Kennedy summed it up perfectly when he called the whole invasion hysteria "weapons-grade stupid."

Trump's not stupid.

Miller's not stupid.

But apparently a lot of people in Washington and the media are stupid enough to fall for the same playbook Trump's been using successfully for a decade.
