The party’s base hates Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer with such a passion that polls show New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez crushing him by 19 points in a 2028 primary.
Americans are wondering who leads the Democrat Party and what do they stand for.
Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) told Sean Hannity that the answer to who leads the Democrat Party is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
“I think Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez is the leader of the Democratic Party today. Some might say Senator Schumer, but —” Kennedy began.
Hannity jumped in to agree citing the lousy poll numbers for Schumer and the Democrat Party as a whole.
“Schumer’s at a 17% approval rating today, 17! Democrats are in the 20s,” Hannity exclaimed.
Kennedy then finished his point.
Ocasio-Cortez is currently in an “oligarchy” tour where she flies first class around the county to rant and rave about how Trump is a rapist who rigged the economy with Elon Musk.
In his own folksy way, Kennedy called Ocasio-Cortez dumb saying she had a “a billygoat brain and a mockingbird mouth,“ and warned that the Democrat Party’s Trump Derangement syndrome was bad for the country.
“I think it’s Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez. And as I’ve said before, she’s entitled to her opinions,” Kennedy said. “You know, my personal opinion is that God gave her a billygoat brain and a mockingbird mouth, you know? Look, I believe in the power of ideas, and my Democratic colleagues have no ideas. All they have is hatred for one man, even when he’s right, and that is President Trump. And I don’t think that’s healthy for them. I don’t think that’s healthy for America,” Kennedy added.
But it’s clear the energy in the party is with Ocasio-Cortez judging by the size of her crowds.
Even Democrats are terrified of the possibility of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez takeover in 2028.
Top Democrat fundraiser John Morgan told NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo that all Ocasio-Cortez becoming the face of the Democrat Party accomplished was serving as a lightning rod to rally the MAGA base to turnout in the 2026 and 2028 elections, which will be the first elections since 2014 where Donald Trump isn’t the central character.
Morgan worried that Ocasio-Cortez leading the party meant Democrats would throw away winnable elections as her woke socialism alienated the middle and energized the right.
“See, AOC and Bernie [galvanize] MAGA because MAGA hates them and the thing MAGA loves the most other than what they love, they love watching them twisting and turning,” he continued. “They liked to tear the wing off the fly and watch the flower walk around in a circle on the table. They enjoy that as much as they enjoy destroying the Department of Education.”
