Sports and politics are intertwined in America.
That’s just the way the Left likes it.
Joe Biden made one decision about the Super Bowl that you won’t believe.
CBS will broadcast this year’s Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers.
The game is a rematch from Super Bowl 54, which seems like it was played in another lifetime in another America as it was played one month before the COVID pandemic shutdowns.
As is customary, CBS extended the invitation to Joe Biden to appear on the network’s hour-long pregame show for an interview.
The Super Bowl regularly draws well over 100 million viewers each year and President’s relish the opportunity to speak to a large swatch of the country.
Not Joe Biden.
For the second year in a row, Biden will skip the pregame interview.
“Yeah, simple as that,” CBS Sports Chairman Sean McManus said in a media call about Biden refusing the interview request. “There’s nothing more to say about it. We were prepared to do it. And the White House declined the opportunity.”
“Not disappointed,” McManus added. “I think it’s we were prepared to do it and, you know, we’re moving on to other subjects.”
After Joe Biden rejected CBS’s interview request, Donald Trump said he would be glad to appear on the Super Bowl pregame show.
“Crooked Joe Biden has just announced that he will not be doing the big Super Bowl Interview. A great decision, he can’t put two sentences together. I WOULD BE HAPPY TO REPLACE HIM – would be “RATINGS GOLD!” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform.
McManus said CBS wouldn’t interview Trump because the network wasn’t producing a “political show.”
“I don’t want to get into the politics,” McManus snapped. “We’re here to talk about the game.”
“We’re producing a football pregame show, not a political show,” McManus added.
Reporters wondered how it was a political show if CBS interviewed Trump but not Biden.
“There’s no precedent for having any political figure other than the president give the interview,” McManus stated. “Fair enough?”
Joe Biden’s White House tried to make the same claim about not wanting to interject politics into the Super Bowl.
But that’s not what’s going on at all.
Biden’s handlers are afraid to put him out in front of the public in all but the most carefully scripted settings.
That’s because those around Biden are among the 77 percent of Americans – according to the latest NBC News poll – who don’t believe Biden is physically or mentally capable of handling the job of President.
And the Biden team is afraid of what Biden will say or how he will appear, even with the full knowledge that CBS will send a supporter to conduct the interview by lobbing nothing but softballs at Biden.
