Jimmy Fallon Gushed Over John Leguizamo’s New Book and Missed the Communists Hiding on Every Page

John Leguizamo just told America every white person was once here illegally.

Days later he sat next to Jimmy Fallon promoting a childrens book for kids.

Fallon praised every page without noticing whose portraits hang on the wall inside.

John Leguizamo showed up on The Tonight Show this week to sell two projects at once.

One was his role in The Odyssey.

The other was his new picture book, Kiki and the Can.

Fallon set him up with a softball question about how the project got started.

Leguizamo delivered his pitch about representation, telling Fallon that Latin kids are barely present in children's picture books today.

Fallon ate it up.

Fallon read the dedication aloud on air, then looked Leguizamo in the eye and said "you crushed it."

What Fallon never mentioned is what is actually printed inside the book he just praised on national television.

The book's Amazon preview pages show exactly who Leguizamo wants Latin children looking up to.

One page has a character naming Greta Thunberg as her hero – the far left activist who built her fame attacking capitalism and the West.

A second page lines up portraits on a brick wall, and the company they keep is not subtle.

Diego Rivera is there – a card carrying member of the Communist Party.

Frida Kahlo is there too – another Communist Party member who carried on an affair with Soviet revolutionary Leon Trotsky.

Gabriel Garcia Marquez rounds out the wall – a novelist who spent decades as a personal friend of Fidel Castro.

Not one Latin conservative made the cut.

Leguizamo built an entire book around the idea that Latin kids need to see themselves reflected as heroes – and then handed them a wall of Marxists.

Leguizamo called Stephen Miller a racist for building Trump's deportation agenda during a sit down with Bill Maher.

Maher pushed back on air, telling him "a backlash to how badly Biden handled the immigration situation" was driving the moment.

Weeks later Leguizamo went on television again, telling Americans that every white person's ancestors were once here illegally too – as if that settles the birthright citizenship debate.

Now he is on Fallon's couch dressing up Marxist icons as heroes for five year olds and calling it representation.

Leguizamo is not writing children's books.

He is running a media tour with crayons, and Jimmy Fallon keeps handing him the microphone without asking a single hard question.

Meanwhile Trump made historic gains with Latino voters in 2024.

Leguizamo's answer to that shift is not a Latino veteran, a Latino small business owner, or a Latino pastor.

His answer is Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, and a Swedish activist who lectures America about capitalism.

That is not representation.

That is a man who cannot accept that Latino voters are leaving his politics behind, so he is trying to raise the next generation to think like he does.

A Ratings Collapse Explains the Silence

Fallon has never been shy about which political direction his show leans.

One media critic said "late-night hosts became activists, cheering on the Democrats while pummeling Republicans."

Viewers noticed.

The Tonight Show has hemorrhaged audience for years and now trails Jimmy Kimmel and Gutfeld in total viewers most weeks.

Another put it even more bluntly, writing that "Jimmy Fallon drove The Tonight Show into the ratings ditch."

Booking a guest willing to indict half of Fallon's dwindling audience as illegitimate immigrants by birth is not going to reverse that slide.

It is going to accelerate it.

NBC could have booked any Latin author who does not insult half the audience watching at home.

Instead the network handed the segment to Leguizamo and let him walk away unchallenged.

That is not an accident.

That is a pattern network executives keep repeating no matter how many viewers it costs them.

Grandparents Do Not Need a Communist Wall to Feel Seen

Leguizamo's entire pitch rests on the idea that representation requires a specific kind of hero.

He is originally from Colombia and is currently touring to promote his role in a Greek epic – not exactly the airtight case for cultural specificity he thinks it is.

Real representation was sitting right there for the taking, and Leguizamo walked past every bit of it to reach for Havana and Moscow instead.

Jimmy Fallon signed off on all of it without blinking.

Grandparents watching that segment did not see a heartwarming book promotion.

They saw NBC quietly slipping communist iconography past their grandkids – smiling the whole time.
