Whenever a political party loses an election the blame game ensues.
The Democrat Party is smack dab in the middle of their circular firing squad.
And Jen Psaki dropped the hammer on Kamala Harris for one bad mistake that cost her the election.
Jen Psaki slams Kamala Harris over support for transgender surgeries for illegal aliens
One of the main takeaways from the 2024 election was the realization by some on the Left that the party went too far in support of identity politics.
Jen Psaki ripped Kamala Harris over her support for taxpayer funded surgeries for illegal alien inmates when she ran for President in 2020.
In a Bulwark podcast interview, Psaki referenced an ad the Trump campaign hammered Kamala with containing the tagline Kamala is for “they/them and Donald Trump is for us” that highlighted a 2019 ACLU questionnaire Kamala Harris filled out where she indicated she supported taxpayer funded transgender surgeries for all prison inmates including illegal aliens.
“There was an ad that was run that was effective about Kamala Harris’s answer to an ACLU questionnaire and her answer for, like, a couple of months in 2019 about supporting the funding, paying for, gender-affirming care for undocumented immigrants in prison, right?” Psaki stated.
“I support policies ensuring that federal prisoners and detainees are able to obtain medically necessary care for gender transition, including surgical care, while incarcerated or detained,” Harris wrote on the questionnaire. “Transition treatment is a medical necessity, and I will direct all federal agencies responsible for providing essential medical care to deliver transition treatment.”
Psaki said it defied all belief that anyone would come out in favor of having taxpayers pick up the tab for illegal alien prisoners to undergo transgender surgeries.
“First of all, I don’t—I don’t know who supports that. Why would most people support that? So let’s just be clear about that,” Psaki added.
Psaki said taxpayer funded transgender surgeries for illegal alien inmates was a bridge too far.
But Psaki demanded Democrats hold the line on transgender surgeries for minor children – also a politically toxic position.
“That doesn’t mean that you can’t say, ‘You know what? There are kids out there who are struggling through mental health issues, who were born in a body they don’t feel like is their own,'” Psaki declared. “And we can be humane and support that as a society.”
A 2023 Washington Post-KFF poll found that 68 percent of Americans oppose chemical castration of children ages 10-14.
58 percent oppose chemically castrating children ages 15-17.
This is a case of jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire.
If Americans see Democrats as the party of chemical castration of children, then voters will continue to view the party as outside the mainstream, and Democrats will continue to lose elections.
